Full Timers Let Go AT My Office

Gah this has me a little worried now, I transferred over from processing to deliveries in the summer of 2005 and signed for a full time duty. Until then I had been part time on processing since I started in Jan 2004. I recall getting a contract shortly after going full time on deliveries I think

. Is there anyway I can find out where I stand on this or see my contract? 5 years being full time on deliveries does that mean I'm safe for sure?

the more i think about it the more i think the dom is lying and it is his doing, nobody else has reported this at their office?

probably royal mails new scare tactic to get people to go sick more through stress and then to get shot of em that way.

once you have been anywhere a year you have full employment rights.
royal mail are not some company who can just find a loophole (unlike any other one) to suit their needs.

if it was the case there would be a revolution going on right now and the economy and country would be in a state of emergency.

Yep.............contract digging being done at our DO too, last count...........16 or 17 if you include me, mix of full time/35/32 hours.............We've had a letter

It would appear that you guys are correct, only permanent after 4 years..........can't see RM letting us get to that point. I may be flogging a dead horse here but this is why I'm so cheesed off with the people who come in early and work for free. Due to their actions, the problems in completion do not show up to either the DOM or the union rep. The job gets done on time without cutting off so...........they get given more work. So they do more work for free.............so they get given more work.............so they do more work for free...........get my drift? Then suddenly the guvnor goes 'Hold on, we don't need all these people...........so muggings and 16 others like me lose our jobs.

Don't even get me started on the selfish *£&*& people that want to get rid of Saturdays..................

Yes, people its coming to an office near you because you were fooled by the £ signs and voted 'yes' for this crap deal.

I know, i know and us older posties that had put in a few years and had seen this S**t before (but not on this scale) were simply ignored by the ones who could only see £400 and the chance of 1in4 sats off

It used to make me so mad and feel like kicking back but these days it just makes me feel sick to think the CWU backed this
