Posties deliver for Blythe House

PEDALLING posties are gearing up for a coast to coast charity challenge next month.

A group of seven workers at Buxton Sorting Office are taking part in a 100 mile bike ride from Maryport in Cumbria to Newbiggin-by-the-sea, Northumberland to raise money for Blythe House Hospice.

The intrepid group, Colin Tym, Pete Newbold, Graham Morson, Luke Watkins, Tim Stevenson, Dave Welch and Nick Gyamie, will set off from Maryport on Sunday, August 29 and are planning to complete the distance on the same day.

Colin, who organised the challenge, lost two friends to cancer last year. He said: "It is a challenge and we know there will be some big hills. We've been doing training for it and we'll have to see how it goes on the day. We'll all support each other. Blythe House Hospice have to raise so much money to keep going so we just thought it would be nice to do something to help them."
