Brother and sister posties really deliver on hike for hospice

BROTHER and sister postal workers took on a gruelling walk through the Scottish Highlands to raise £5,000 for a Worcester hospice.

Dawn Powell and David Baglin, who both deliver the post in Droitwich, managed a taxing 92 miles along the West Highland Way from Glasgow to the foot of Ben Nevis to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice, Wildwood Drive.

Mr Baglin and Mrs Powell got donations through their rounds in Tibberton, Rushock and Cutnall Green, and Royal Mail bosses matched their fund-raising to help reach £5,000.

St Richard’s fund-raising manager Tricia Cavell said: “This is a fantastic achievement to raise such a great sum to help us care for our patients and their families. The challenge sounded very memorable and we are truly grateful to Dawn and David.”
