Re: The "How was your day" thread.
We ran out of work today, got in at 6.40 and the troops were standing around with nowt to do.
The mail centre have devloped a nasty habit of sending the mail as and when they want, thelast van is very incosistent in its arrival time and virtually all the walksorted mail is coming through on the last van half the week and the other half of the week its in the middle vans. Yesterday walksorted mail/last van on time today both are late, proably be the same for the next few days then back to on time.
The mbrs at my D.O are getting very fed up with it!!!
Once can only hope the managers at the mail centre learn the meaning of the word consistent before we do a revision.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Quitest tues in ages which meant that even with the dreaded lapsing i had time on my hands to work the old way and stop and spend some time chatting to customers. So i stopped a few times and really enjoyed the relaxed walk around and even when it rained i sat in the van.
Got back to office 12.40am and prob could have knocked the 40 min off that. All managers gone (which suits me) so i prepped a few d2d's as its bound to be busy tommorrow.

The only word I can think of for summing up today is...............s**t!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
A much cooler day which helped a lot. Not as much as yesterday but still lapsing on top so it seemed no better.
There is talk of canceling the missort run and adding another duty to the absorbtion which would involve taking out a 4/5th of a walk
This will put me over

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Worst day for years
When we got audited a year or so ago we were going beyond the sorting rates required. Today with only 50% sorters available we apparently are no longer up to spec.

So that's the reason behind cancelling the mis-sort run! Absorb another duty!!!
Yep this is what they recon. We are down to 6 to a duty now and thats getting tough but if we go down to only 4 were going to be taking out 150 + calls on some duties. Because the mail has been at lighter summer levels ive been getting round ok even with the absorbtion but a forth will take me over.
I just hope others will see sense and not start getting in even earlier to get round.
Our dom just keeps saying "its just an idea" but she,s said this before and it come true
