It is important that where there is an issue of concern in relation to WCM the appropriate Representative or Branch make contact with their respective 'lead' for assistance or guidance. It will be the responsibility of the 'lead' Representative to update CWU HQ with developments or concerns which need attention at national level.
It is essential that we actively engage with the WCM initiative in line with the national agreement and ensure that it is developed to the benefit of CWU members as well as the company. The appropriate paragraph of the agreement in relation to 'Local Level' is reproduced below:
Local Level
As part of their regular meeting schedule, local managers and local CWU representatives will review progress of World Class Mail in each unit in which it has been implemented. The local CWU representative will also have access to World Class Mail leads and will support local employees in identifying and developing examples of good practice, consistent with national agreements and business policies. The intention is for World Class Mail to develop in an open and constructive environment and CWU area representatives will also be encouraged to monitor and support progress on a regular basis.
Any issues affecting national agreements and employee terms and conditions will be the subject of normal negotiation procedures in accordance with the Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond Agreement.
Yours sincerely
Dave Ward
Deputy General Secretary (P)
