Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
Thanks BD. Maybe the 6 week with a saturday off is the Wallington Plus then - sounds about right.Big Daz wrote:Never heard of it, 6 week, 4 week and 6 week with a Saturday off as well, which gives 2 Saturdays in every 6 off work.
Ex colleague had asked me what it was

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
Can u guarentee this m8,we are going through our one to ones now and everyone in our do without exception has nominated our current one week off in 6 wallington as there first choice, only to be told that while royal mail will take our views into account,if the planning team deem that other duty patterns are more cost effective then they will be the ones implemented. So basically the planning team have the final say and we,re shafted yet again.dingo wrote:Stormproof you will be allowed to remain on your wallington stysem that is not an issue. The only reason it was not in the menu of options is that it does not give 1 in 4 saturdays off and therefore did not meet the terms of the agreement. However offices have opted to stay and that will be allowed. However remember on the 5 weeks you will be working on Saturdays you will be doing a normal day.
Thats why some wallington systems have looked at the wallington plus system which allows for an extra day off every two weeks and in some cases more than that dependent on workload.

Thats not what we've been told, we do 1 in 6, and think nearly everyone will pick to stay as we are.unionjack0 wrote:Can u guarentee this m8,we are going through our one to ones now and everyone in our do without exception has nominated our current one week off in 6 wallington as there first choice, only to be told that while royal mail will take our views into account,if the planning team deem that other duty patterns are more cost effective then they will be the ones implemented. So basically the planning team have the final say and we,re shafted yet again.dingo wrote:Stormproof you will be allowed to remain on your wallington stysem that is not an issue. Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
there some people interested in a alternative attendance pattern at my D.O but the majority will want no change as 1st preference. Have had a few mbrs say for my D.O they want the rotating day off but stay on 5 day week. 75% no change from 5 day week fixed day off and 25% something different, is my prediction for my D.O.

i want more saturdays off, 10 hour days or whatever....it would be so good to have some proper weekends. i know it differs with peoples circumstances but think our office is of the same general thinking

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
I'm hoping ours is the same - anything that gets me more time off is fine by me. I've got a feeling a lot of people are going to vote to keep the current 5 day week with a rotating day off thoughpostdoom wrote:i want more saturdays off, 10 hour days or whatever....it would be so good to have some proper weekends. i know it differs with peoples circumstances but think our office is of the same general thinking

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
What about the new version of that as shown in the national menu of options where you get 2 in 6 satrurdays off, would that be popular?

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
I had to fill in a preference form this morning about what system I wanted to work.
Had a choice of:
5 day with day off.
5 day with fixed SA
5 on 1 off
I picked 5 on 1 off, chose that last time but never got it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: New Menu Of Duty Options
I'd like the three day week option with the £3million bonus that some folks got. I'm dead sure I could match their record of f***ing up the service beyond recognition, and make a loss to boot
