They started doing one 2 ones this morning asking people what options they would like. They are also asking everyone if they are interested in reducing their hours. I've still yet to have mine, I am going to ask for 1 in 5 like I did when it first come out but whether I'll get it or not is anyones guess

Stormproof you will be allowed to remain on your wallington stysem that is not an issue. The only reason it was not in the menu of options is that it does not give 1 in 4 saturdays off and therefore did not meet the terms of the agreement. However offices have opted to stay and that will be allowed. However remember on the 5 weeks you will be working on Saturdays you will be doing a normal day.

Thats why some wallington systems have looked at the wallington plus system which allows for an extra day off every two weeks and in some cases more than that dependent on workload.

I'm glad they are going to keep it but my point was that I asked for that years ago when it first came about and I never got it. I'm a reserve and I get a day off, mainly Tuesdays, surprise, surprise  I've had 2 Saturdays off in 2 years and one of those I had to take as A/L as they had no duty for me. They can bring in what they like I just would like to spend a whole weekend with my kids once in a while!

Is that the Wallington Plus that cantbelieveit's is referring to?

3 weeks on 1 week off

This has been suggested for consideration by my old office I gather

One way of everyone getting a 1 in 4 saturday off I guess

6 day week thats how. That keeps the length of the working day down.

Wallington 4 week rotate is hours spread over 18 days over a three week period rather than 20 days spread over four weeks.

I know Daz but it's still....156 hrs in 3 weeks no matter how you slice it...or to put it another way 52hr weeks and coming from an office that has wallington on a 48 hr week i can tell you it's a big ask.
I think we'll leave that one for the youngsters in the office. :chuckle

It's actually 53.3333333 hrs per week (4 x 40 divided by 3) OR 8.8888889 hrs per day :whistle

So, to ask my question again. Is that a wallington plus duty, or is that something else?

Never heard of it, 6 week, 4 week and 6 week with a Saturday off as well, which gives 2 Saturdays in every 6 off work.

..And instead of 4 weeks a year leave you get a minimum of 17, far more time to rest than you have now, as with your leave as well you're essentially getting 1 week off in 3.

We can all twist statistics OnAFlyer,it's not instead of 4 weeks it's instead of 4 week 3 days plus 52 days off or if you like 15 weeks or if you really like 1 week off in 3.75 which makes it sound a little different doesn't it. :hmmmm

1 week off in 4 wallington suits me perfectley and that is my 1st preference. 6 day weeks no issue, ive worked my day off 6 weeks on the trot as of this week. For others in my D.O 5 day week fixed day off suits them perfectley and I also have mbrs wanting to switch from fixed day off to rotating and some want 1 in 4 sats off.

Im expecting the preference exercise to show that the majority of staff wish to stick to 5 day week fixed day off.

The mbrs who hold a fixed saturday off duty are getting very agiated indeed and trying to scare people away from alternative attendances which is sad as most people have enough brains about them to think about their options carefully.

Time off in full weeks is a lot better than an odd day every week IMO. I don't care about a 6 day week, I did it for years anyway. Yes the walks will be a lot longer, but it will be worth it to get so many full weeks off.

I hate how it is at present, i've had my holiday this summer and I haven't got a week off now for 6 months. That's absolutely rubbish IMO.
