And the rumour of Peterborough Mail Centre moving to Alconbury (near A14/A1) and having a joint PE/CB MC hasn't died either!!!

And the rumour of Peterborough Mail Centre moving to Alconbury (near A14/A1) and having a joint PE/CB MC hasn't died either!!!
I belive the building is leased rather than owned and the lease is due to expire in 2014.

Re: Union Rep suspended
There has been a rumour about Alconbury for a long time but Peterborough is already a large MC and no doubt could absorb Cambridge. What about Norwich MC? And Ipswich, likely to go into Chelmsford?
When Peterborough was built there was an option to take all of NR and CB 1st class aswell as 2nd.

Re: Union Rep suspended
Why don't they just build one f***ing great big MC slap bang in the middle of the country and put an end to all the rumours?
If mail levels are falling at 75%/day (as they claim) a shed in Sheffield should do the job nicely.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

One flaw packages and parcels need space, although the triucks could be convetred to double up as mini mail centres.

It is his CWU credentials that are suspended.
The issues(s) behind the suspension are in the hands of CWU HQ and they and they alone will decide how to resolve the situation.
Local CWU branches can suspend credentials but only HQ can doing anything else.
I would ask that we leave this issue here and let it be sorted out without becoming a cause for internet gossip.
That said if anyone wishes to debate the CWU rule book when it comes to matters of internal discipline please go ahead and start a topic in union room.
Thanks
I find your arrogance a total disgrace. This is someone who genuinely cares and you people in the CWU should remember that. Too many of your union reps are in the pockets of the management and the workforce is the poorer for it. The CWU has been shown up for what they are, a bunch of unprincipled hasbeens who supress debate which does not fit in with their agenda. I salute the person in question for having the guts to stand up for what they believe in. That is something clearly you will never aspire to!

Re: Union Rep suspended
I am pleased this person has been cleared. Should never have brought to task in the first place. I say this to the CWU. You need to be more accountable and more transparent in the way you conduct yourselves. If you are not prepared to do that, step aside and let another group of people take on the responsibility of nailing the most disreputable, incompetent and worst of all, morally bankrupt set of managers I have ever come across.
This company is awash with them. Everywhere you look, there they are, living off the backs of the workforce. The Royal Mail has no chance of succeeding in an increasingly competitive market with these loafers in charge.
