disappointing to be honest margate i will be upfront and say i completely disagree with your actions, you then complain that people make nasty comments when you post i dont care i leave soon what do you expect?
Just out of interest do you retire or leave? Im sure if you are retiring you are happy to have the reduced pension that management are trying to force upon us?
And if you are leaving soon it will be just like adam and alan cos they will be off soon im sure.
Im proud to take part in this action and your right when you say change will come no doubt about that whatsoever but its about being in a position to negotiate that change rather than have it imposed as you seem to prefer.
I understand its extremely hard for people who do not earn enough in the first place to take strike action but it just shows we can and are and will continue to do so with or without your support.
For all you strikers stay strong and hold the line.

WHOAH!! Calm down people. Slight over reaction by a lot here.
I don't agree with him breaking the strike, but calling him spineless and gutless. What good does that do, other than vent your frustration at him.
I wouldn't call someone spineless or gutless when they knew full well the consequences for crossing the picketline. I'd say the exact opposite.
If we believe his actions are wrong, shouldn't we try to educate him about the real facts. Not resort to name calling.
There are worse people than strike breakers, kiddy fiddlers for one, Al Qaeda another.
Judging by his original post it seems he's not going to be with royal mule for much longer so has no interest in the future of its workers. If we can't educate him the next best thing is to ignore him. He'll be gone soon and our problems will still remain.

Too right we are not going to change his mind by calling him names, in fact we are probably driving him into Royal Mails arms and reinforcing his belief that he is doing the right thing.
Even if you are a polar opposite to him please try and persuade him to change his mind rather than call him names, otherwise we are no better than Allan Leighton and Adam Crozier calling us Overpaid and Under worked and look what thats caused.

Margate Postman You posted your comments to anger people, so I hope you feel really good and proud of yourself and the replies you have got. You will always get some support as a few people on this site like to post like yourself. I alway have found that when I come face to face with selfish people like you I find them they are both immature and sad misfits that crave for attention. I for one are glad you are leaving Royal Mail. I hope it will not be to long coming. :cfo :cfo :cfo :cfo

Sorry not in my book - Kiddy fiddlers and terrorists do it because they have no empathy with their victims and little understanding of the impact on them. Strike breakers believe, however misguided, that they are doing it for the right reason and at least understand the effect it has on other people. So sorry to equate strike breakers with Paedophiles and terrorists is going too far in my opinion. BTW I know it was meant as a joke but I thought I'd chip my penny worth in.catch wrote:It's a close callkinmad4it wrote: There are worse people than strike breakers, kiddy fiddlers for one, Al Qaeda another.

Yeah I was just being a bit silly, and today's strike breakers I think are doing it as much due to lack of experience in any big disputes, and not knowing the history of how their wages and conditions have been won, rather than being strike breakers in principle. It's disappointing, but not surprising.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: Sorry not in my book - Kiddy fiddlers and terrorists do it because they have no empathy with their victims and little understanding of the impact on them. Actually on that subject, I'd say a big reason for the increase in terrorism and religious extremism has been working class defeat. The Nazis came to power in Germany not long after the German Revolution was defeated and people from the KAPD killed an imprisoned - had that not happened they could have stopped it. Places like Iran and Iraq had mass militant movements against Saddam etc. - but again they were massacred or exiled which meant that the Islamists have been able to take over in the vacuum.

Does the original poster know the real reasons behind the decision to strike?
This is not a strike soley about money. Look on the CWU website http://www.cwu.org and see what else royal mule are trying to force on their workers.
You need the money. So does every other posty, be they on strike or not. That's why we work. If royal fail have their way, we'll be working for less money and doing more hours into the bargain.
Investigate the real reasons and you may change your mind.

Margate, why do you make these comments, be honest your going into work because you havnt got long to do and you couldnt give a s**t about your fellow workers, and if you get stick about it, so what your going, some of us have got a few more years to do on RM, we all know that change is going to happen, but if we dont fight this then the change will be a lot worse and a lot of your fellow workers are going to get well and trully stuffed, people who have got more working years to do, with mortgages and familys, doing what your doing is more insulting than any name calling, all that people like you and other strike breakers do is disrespect your fellow workers and help RM to prolong this dispute causing further financial hardship for everybody else, and i dont do things to stay in the crowd, i do it because i believe in what we are doing, if you think RM are treating us fairly and with respect, then your either a boss or an idiot, IWW Fellow Worker is absolutely spot on with his comments...UNITY IS STRENGTH.
