I've done most of our walks and mine is about average. I'm not a runner either, unless running is walking around at a decent pace whilst daydreaming that i'm not on a sink estate.
There are 2-3 walks in my office that are a genuine 3hrs 30 - but there are at least 20 other walks that are stretched out to that time. 90% of walks are a comfortable 2.30 - 3.00hrs, a runner can demolish them in well under 2.30.
For every runner there is a complete p*ss taker that seems to think walking as slowly as possible is doing the job properly. Our rep has had a load taken off his walk, I did a third of it a few months ago and it took me 36 minutes. It's changed slightly but is now actually shorter than when I used to do the duty 12 years ago. 400-odd houses, nearly all terraced and a few firms.
good on him for sorting himself an easy walk, but don't try and tell me people like him are doing the job properly and 'preserving jobs' - this is the exact reason why we'll all soon have to meet performance standards.
i want a transfer to that office!
We've had a Pegasus revison that took 0 hours out so the walks just stayed the same. Reading this forum some offices are getting totally shafted by either the planners or management, because a 3hr 30 walk on the Pegasus system we had inputted is nowhere near 3hrs 30 in reality.

It sounds like you had someone who actually knew what they were doing on Georoute. The time you make up is mainly achieved by crossing some addresses door to door (we all do it) as georoute alllows you to walk up and down every path. There's time to be made on most walks and good luck to anyone who can.
I just wish folks would use it too slow down or take a break out on the round and not get back at the office in full view of the managers 2 hours early, as this will just lead to further absorbtion/lapsing and is what is happening in our office
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

A planner told me that georoute actually goes to the middle of the street and then onto the next address, so in reality you should be able to make a bit of time on a properly planned walk. We don't return to office, but anyone that does, and does so early is a bit daft and is asking for more work.
