Today was absolutely ridiculous. They squeezed all the fittings together over the weekend to make a big space for the new machines to be installed. Our ips frames have been reduced from 8 to 5, the flat fittings from 4 to 2. They are now at the far end of the office so our district had to walk the length of the building umpteen times, collecting our mail, returning mis sorts etc. My feet were aching before I even got out to do my walk. The fittings for one district have been scattered in among the rest so some poor b******s had a hell of a time putting d2d bundles out. There is one walkway along the wall side, (they removed our lockers to allow space), then some dozy tw@ts started putting yorkies there so we ended up zig-zagging along it. The way the fittings are now in the event of the fire alarm going off quite a few cannot use the nearest fire exit as it means walking farther than it is to use the main door.

I've had worse Tuesdays. It was very light, round in under 2 hours! And that was taking it slow. Even though it was so light, the full timers were not allowed out until 09.40 (being part time, I was 'released' at 08.00) It felt like the old days, actually finishing in the morning.mclovin wrote:Ive had better Mondays.

Booked half an hour Monday. Plenty of heavy catalogues. Humid and slightly damp with drizzle. Tuesday, just got done in time. Packets were good, had a few more catalogues, but gaps here and there helped. Day off tomorrow.

Awful day, seems to be the trend at the minute.
4:30 hours, done for 2:30, on a walk with tiny businesses dotted around so was wondering around confused for most of the day. At least I can look forward to my 6 mile away walk on Saturday.

Not too heavy for a Thursday and the packets were almost non existant. Did a bit of lapsing and got a bit of docket. Had a team talk before we went out. From next week, due to falling mail volumes, we will each be lapsing twice a week.

Spent most of the morning arguing with muppet line manager. He even tried to have a go at me when I went out for a smoke. I said "In there I have to listen to you, out here I don't so why don't you save your breath?" He just stomped off in a sulk. Later on I saw him trying to get a new guy covering a walk to take a full set of D2D out as they'd not been touched all week. I stepped in and told the new guy it is 1/6 per day, if he wants you to take them all and you're willing make sure you get paid O/T. Muppet line manager stomped off again.

Well it was ok i guess but it had its moments. The mail was lightish as you expect this time of the year and the weather much cooler with the odd shower or two.
We had absorbtion on an estate, a huge round over 800 calls but all close together etc. We started out with 8 of us but they pulled one off to cover a firms delivery whilst a van was run to the depot for repairs, so then there was 7. We prepped the frame ok and for once everyone did thier share .
However one of our crew started to look a bit green and quickly shot off to the toilets whereupon he started chucking up big time nice 
He had to go home.
So that left just 6 of us and somehow i ended up with 3 blocks of flats without any lifts
Well i finished with just 5 mins of time to spare and for once the Dom was still there and did say thanks .
Total time out 4hr 55min and my legs were killing me.

4 hrs on the dot. Pouched a few items off. Got caught in a shower about 11 o'clock but it passed within half an hour.
