Re: WTL today
Well jimmy, I'm not too sure where you get your information from but much of it is flawed.
Your later starts has everything to do with WSM, and your area should not be leaving your office until 10. In keeping with the work plan.
Now the idea that an office would be held back for 2 hours with no work is ludicrous and I am sure quite untrue.
Walk revisions will take place and that too could mean later start times.
As for WSMs being in place by October or Christmas I do believe is incorrect - maybe next October or Christmas but not this one.

Re: WTL today
Go on then, enlighten us. How could it have been a different story, when DO Posties outnumber the rest of us by a considerable margin.Phantom wrote:If these changes are brought in then you have the right for industrial action, the new changes will serve no one, not even royal mail let alone the public and other businesses so if you all feel strongly about it consult your rep and if you want to fight against these studpid changes then i suggest you do so, quick! You won't be the only office as many more will come out over this stupid deal that the cwu made. Delivery staff should have had a seperate vote and if we had it would have been a different story
How many times must people be told: The result of the vote COULD NOT POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN DUE TO NON-DELIVERY POSTIES!
To be perfectly honest, I'm sick to death of DO Posties blaming the rest of us for this stupid agreement, which is screwing ALL of us!

The high number of members not voting was the cause, a voting threshold needs to be introduced.

Or a campaigning and inclusive executive that does not hold secret talks with management and tries to involve and include the membership at all stages?Big Daz wrote:The high number of members not voting was the cause, a voting threshold needs to be introduced.

Re: WTL today
I already do. And I attend meetings too. But I have often heard it said, that people think I'm wasting my time, because the CWU enters into secret talks, so we don't have the information we need to make a useful contribution.
The fact that I go anyway, shows that I don't agree. But I do have some sympathy for that point of view, as it's a recurring theme.

Re: WTL today
Well I know for a fact that is not the case, the leaving time is 9.30 for town and 10 for Rural and Park and Loopers - and considering the IPS is not complete until 0845 and the missort run wouldn't return to that unit until 9 am, it would be quite ludicrous to suggest they are sitting around doing nothing from 8 am jimmy - so perhaps you would like to let the others in your unit know whats around the corner because all these changes are coming to a place near you quite soon.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:dvbuk55 wrote: your area should not be leaving your office until 10dvbuk55 wrote: Now the idea that an office would be held back for 2 hours with no work is ludicrous and I am sure quite untrue.
So if everyones prepped at 8am , whats it to be ??? Let um out early?? You say NO - Keep um back, with nothing to do, for 2 hrs ?? ?? You say NO
I know for a fact 100% that Chorley are kept behind and I know for a fact that Preston are let go very early as there`s loadsa full timers there, so the rounds are prepped very early - they also have night staff chucking rounds in. Were in the middle somewhat, too few full timers so much to prep, but once we have prepped everything we can go
There is of course the part timers whose start time is 9 am and finish time 2 pm of which there will be quite a few - they're still in bed at 8 am or I would be if I was involved.

Last letter is 3pm town, 4pm rural Jimmy.
So 9am -3pm is only 6 hours work. Unless you mean PT staff.
The PTers at my place already start at 8.15 mon - wed and 7.45 thurs fri.

Re: WTL today
Not suggesting this is going to happen there but don't forget 2007 had innovative duty structures as an option and 2010 allows for local agreement on the same. It is possible if there is agreement that FTs could start at 9am and work 8 hours, even 10 if they wanted to go for 4 day weeks, all you have to do is find work to fill the duties and that could be done by making up hybrid duties with collections after deliveries.mclovin wrote:Last letter is 3pm town, 4pm rural Jimmy.

Thats TBH what people need to understand and watch out for if they don't want it, or embrace and think outside the box if they do.

Re: WTL today
We do 5 days @ 8hrs - we are through IPS everyday usually for 7:40ish ,we then prep ,then prep rounds for PT, then we are free to go. We get our missorts around 8:30 to 8:45 depending on who the driver is . Mon & Tue everyone leaves at 8:50, including me , so I lose 45 mins per day coz of my FF. The rest of the week its around 9:10 - 9:20 when everyone goes, im 8:50, but thats my due out time.
Chorley do exactly like we do - but theyre already on park & loop . Maybe thats why they only let them out at 10am or maybe their doms a cnut - either way , Mon & tues theyre ready to go, everythings done by 8am, bar waiting for the missorts. And they dont let them out till 10am - so everyone sits in the canteen, or sits outside, until the gaffer says its ten bells your free to go.
If the IPS don't finish until 7.40ish jimmy then prep then prep the PT rounds then i assume redirections D2D kill offs, tieing up loading vans, etc etc how on earth can they be sitting in the canteen by 8am.
They must be feckin supermen Jimmy.......definitely top 10% material.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: WTL today
Rumour has it they wear their knickers over their trousers and use a sack as a cape, then they have thrown off set in ready to go 45 minutes before the IPS is complete - oh they are dab hands at spreading rumours about how hard they workfishtank wrote:We do 5 days @ 8hrs - we are through IPS everyday usually for 7:40ish ,we then prep ,then prep rounds for PT, then we are free to go. Re: WTL today
Jimmy take my word for it - the IPS is STILL ongoing at 0845 at Chorley - the earliest are allowed to leave at 0930 because they are doing lapsed work, the remainder at 10 - those timings are ALL in accordance with the agreed current work plan.

When did I say 6hrs work ??? we are either going to 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5 depending on what time we are going to get our mail from Chorley
Every office has differing times depending on when you get the coded mail - no point starting at 7am when your mail only gets here @ 9 ???
Our current finish time is 2:15 for FT staff.
Our PTs start at 9am till 2pm. There hours will also extand by whatever our hours do , so probably they`ll start @ 9:45, 10:45 ,or 11:45 , again dependent on what time we are going to get our Mech mail
Union agreed 3pm last letter towns, 4pm rural, its in the goddam agreement, and has been agreed with PostComm.
Its not up for debate or local agreement, its the USO.

Jimmy, you guys need to get your act together, starting by telling your managers to f**k off!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
