Four of us from our office went to a Quiz Night last night. We normally call our team 'First Class Males' but last night in we thought we'd change the name to reflect the ongoing situation. We entered as 'Strike Bound' and guess what, of the 24 teams that entered WE WON.
. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

hi to old mates
Hi my name is Dave Hulme I was a postman at Burslem for 20 years. I was also a good friend of big Daves, but always called him my DAD. He is the sole of the earth. Anyone who is lucky enough to meet him knows what I am talking about. Royal Mail has not learned, this is the Mick Gardner case all over again. I will get the t shirts printed for your return Dave. I now live in Cyprus and if I can fit my ladders on the plane, perhaps one or two of you can join me on the D.O roof!!! Take care REMEMBER you are not only supporting Dave but every postman in th UK. xx

1000 demand reinstatement of Dave Condliffe
________________________________________
Over 1000 sign petition to Reinstate Dave Condliffe!
Over 100 hundred people have now signed the Socialist Party's on-line petition and more than 900 have signed up on our street stalls in various parts of the city.
Postal workers from every postal depot in the city, MDEC, Parcel Force, branch post offices and even from Northampton, Macclesfield, London and elsewhere have added their names!
Hundreds of others, particularly young workers, have signed and told us of their own examples of managers and bosses who bully and intimidate them at work.

Nice one Andy, and a big thanks for the link

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Our latest 6 days strike action due Thursday 10/4 through to Wed 16/4 have been pulled as a gesture of good faith whilst the appeals manager makes a decision
. I hope this good faith isn't misplaced
. I can't see things improving much in the near future though as whilst we were being reasonable RM give our reps proposals for 380 hrs in job cuts and bikes for transport all based on finding done by RM managers whilst they did our deliveries when we were on strike
. their timings do make interesting reading though and most of the office laughed at them more than they would at The BEANO ie. 500+ delivery points mostly detached with long drives and several miles from the office = 1hr 15mins
thats some s**t hot postie in my book (33 duty for those from Burslem). Lokks like we'll be out again one way or another

PS tommymac did anyone else turn up on the quiz night

On our new walks worked out via geo route they gave us 8secs per letterbox so 500 = 1hr 7mins without walking from letterbox to letterbox - what are they bringing to Burslem Star Trek transporters.
