Suggesting i have a chip on my shoulder isnt wholly correct.
I would say it was more of a potato since I and thousands of others got sold down the river and shat on yet again by the 'winner and losers' union.
Good luck surviving privatisation, though
When the Governement sell the business to the workforce you'll be stiching up the owners of the business.
Cant you see? Govt sell business to the staff - staff ditch CWU as they own the business.
Writing is on the wall mate.
Pickaname you surely are living in cloud cuckoo land if you believe that simply giving staff some shares means that they own the business and they then think they will be running the organisation and then will leave the CWU.
If and its a big if , the government go down the John Lewis type of privatisation model which was Allan Leighton`s perfered model in 2004/5 which the CWU defeated then it will be a stepping stone to full privatisation.
Now you may think privatisation is great but back in 1984 when British telcom was priviatised by 49% first off with staff shares they had appoxmately 130 000 staff . Now they have 55 000 and work has been contracted out and a whole range of terms and conditions have been reduced. Oh by the way giving BT staff shares did not mean that they trusted the company as in 1987 they had almost two weeks out on strike.
The John Lewis type or in fact any type of sell off or priviatisation is designed not to help the workers but to ensure that staff sell their shares onto either the big share holders or the senior managers so they can make more money at the expense of the workforce. If you dont believe me ask the BT workforce if they still have shares and if they have had to ballot to get a fair deal
