I'd be a brave man to place a bet on tomorrow's picket line weather. My day off today and I've seen at least 3 different forecasts for the same area tomorrow - it changes literally by the hour. My day off today was supposed to be dry and sunny and I've been in and out to rescue washing on the line twice as the heavens have opened. Is it possible that the weather has royal mail managers in charge 'cos it does seem cocked up. BTW - I've often wondered - what's the difference between a spell, a period and an interval when the forecasters refer to the sunshine (we used to get in the summers of yesteryear)?

Not too bad at all today. finished at just before midday. No mech bundles and hardly any mail for the firms not too many packets either. Was even easier yesterday, in fact it was a bit like the old days of job and knock!!! I think we will get hammered next week, too. Oh well, ce la vie, nobody said it would be easy!

got hammered today, manager asked me 4 times if i could do extra and 4 times i said that i would probably have to bring some back myself. i brought about 7 or 8 packets and specials back, by the look on his face i don`t think he believed i would do it. there were a couple of others who left virtually have their rounds but there were also some who went in early to clear their rounds.

I loved today started on time, did primary sorting to time, threw off to time, bundled up on time and did round on time. No stress and no problems. Mind you the floors and walls in my DO are starting to creak under the weight of undelivered mail. I think we took about 50% of what came in but I'll still do the same tomorrow.

Went in at 5am,on the sorting from 5:30 - 7:45,left the office at 9:20,started delivering 9:35,cut off at 12:40 back in office by 12:50 brought back a bag of mail.Told my line manager on the way out i'd be cutting off met with a 'Thanks mate' response, did'nt reply as he's a good bloke who i've know for years and would be on the picket line if he was'nt a manager.By the look of the stress on his face he'll soon be a postie again !!
By the looks of it the office had rows of mail brought back, some deliveries as much as two bags. People are standing together and taking breaks using bikes e.t.c. Only have had 9 strike breakers all strike so far,not bad for an office of 190.Bit of a kick in the teeth for our Dum as he's always boasting about how he's got this and that done in the past.A proper little job's worth,i should imagine a few bristol people here will know who i'm on about!!He's mysterlisly dissappeared all over this time of desruption leaving his assistant Dum to take all the flak...funny that!! Day off tommorow so i'm off to enjoy the sun, keep the fight up folks!
P.s. The office is weston-on-the-mud
