New IWT Agreed

In fairness, the new IWT (v6) seems realistic, the DOM has gone through it during S.I, we checked the parameters, they are all in exel
for transparency, what it did show that, although we were efficient on prep, the IPS sorters were not performing - lazy B------rds

Realistic.....if applied to a single slot RM2000 frame with all of the work in front of you.
But i have to say that 12ipm is exactly the same unagreed rate that Royal Mail have been using at least in my area for years.

Sorry - wrong, the measurements used are like the old DPMS system, taking into account, loading bay, to prep, to ips, ,flats , etc
then how far to bike shed, key locker - all these measurements are on their for the rep to scrutinise. I dont want to be cynical - but
maybe some people are afraid because they might have to work like the rest of us

But i will ask you one question if i may.
If the union thought 10 months ago that 12ipm was "twaddle" because it took "no account of moving from IPS to prep, dealing with dead letters, redirections, missorts, queuing for specials, loading your pouch/trolley. It is pure fantasy and assumes that our members materialise at the IPS frame and then re-materialise at their prep frame."

I need the answers to understand the questions - no point in not understanding a system that our colleagues are measured against.

I can only speak for myself geezer but I can assure you there is no portion of blame accredited to you for whatever is agreed and as for me understanding it........well I think ft is the man for the job................... I look at the agreement "in the round" as it is called and wonder if anyone including those who supposedly negotiated this deal "understand the level of change" and if they ever really understood what it was they were agreeing to for the delivery membership.
What I see is an agreement for three years without any counter balance.

You are not expected to maintain that 100% of the time.


Hopefully there will be agreement on the figures for the type of prep test RMl choose to do.

I know - lets make sorting letter and delivering them a science.

That way we can say with 100% accuracy that most people arent working hard enough.

You will all easily be able to cope with the workload. Whats the point in RM setting the bar so high that most people cant do it?

If you cant keep up you will have to cut off or claim overtime.

Nothing will change as managers either dont care or dont know. This IWT crap is just RM and the CWU being naive.

At the end of the day you CANT make a science out of this. Theres so many variables theyve had to rely on averages.

Some days will be heavy and some will be light. Averages dont work with this kind of job.
