VOTERS in new Prime Minister David Cameron’s Witney constituency are being asked if they received an election leaflet from the Liberal Democrats.
It follows Lib Dem concern that some people in the constituency, which includes Chipping Norton, did not receive a leaflet prior to the May 6 vote.
Neil Walton, agent for Lib Dem candidate Dawn Barnes, whose 11,233 votes placed her second behind Mr Cameron, who polled 33,793 votes, said he had opted to send addressed leaflets as there had previously been problems with unaddressed leaflets getting to people in time.
He said the addresses came from the electoral roll and were provided to the printer, who printed the leaflets and shipped them to Royal Mail to be delivered in the normal rounds.
"We had no idea that there was any problem until people started complaining that they had received no information from us at all during the election campaign,” he said.
"As we had provided the addresses of pretty much everyone in the constituency, we were somewhat dismayed. We could not progress this at the time as we were being told of this in the last week of the campaign and we were fairly busy.
"We need to determine how widespread this problem was so we can contact the printer and the Royal Mail and figure out where things went wrong and how they can be fixed so it does not happen again.”
Royal Mail spokeswoman Sue Dakin said: “We are not aware of any issues and all the leaflets we were asked to deliver were taken out and delivered.”

"Yeah we got it but it didn't say anything about selling out your principles and ending up as David's b*tch on it." said a confused Chipping Norton constituent.

Selling out principles seems to be in vogue then - funny I always thought Labour was the party of choice, still there's another - apart from ordinary folk like us, does anyone have principles any more?fishtank wrote:"Yeah we got it but it didn't say anything about selling out your principles and ending up as David's b*tch on it." said a confused Chipping Norton constituent.

I'm afraid that the notion of self-sacrifice and placing others needs before your own is now considered weak and foolish by those that use the backs of ordinary working men and women to climb onto the ledge above.dvbuk55 wrote:Selling out principles seems to be in vogue then - funny I always thought Labour was the party of choice, still there's another - apart from ordinary folk like us, does anyone have principles any more?fishtank wrote:"Yeah we got it but it didn't say anything about selling out your principles and ending up as David's b*tch on it." said a confused Chipping Norton constituent.
It only surprises me that we continue to offer our backs to those that during earlier times would probably have starved to death for lack of any useful contribution to the group effort.

You'd think anyone connected to the Limp Dems would keep quiet about, rather than attract attention to, a leaflet that contained nothing but a pack of lies in order to induce gullible idiots to vote for them, wouldn't you?
