Sadly, our union rep is one of the many in our office that come in early to throw them all off at the start of the week.

There are a handful of us doing by the guidelines and, purely speaking for myself, I actually prefer doing this way. I used to break my balls trying to get them all thrown off and delivered within a day or two. Now I just do 20%* a day and find it a lot less stressful.

*Saturday is only a 7 hour day for us at present, so we’ve decided to do our D2Ds Mon-Fri.

Same here d2d's in peoples frames I never see them go in. :hmmmm
Asked our manager if we could get the frames marked up in segments as other offices are doing.
answer "just manage them yourselves" :arrrghhh
a lot of postman are knocking them all out by Wednesday(those on the easier rounds)
people covering another duty for one day are not doing 17%.
many in the office still clinging to the notion of an early finish Saturday
do all there d2d Mon to Friday.

A few weeks ago our union rep said in a team brief that he wanted to get door to door coded so that they could be run through the sequencing machines so can someone please explain to me if the union rep is suggesting this (he is a machine op now) how d2d in the workload is supposed to help save our jobs

:d'oh! another total fook up by the union. :d'oh!

:hmmmm not just sold down the river but we are having our heads held under it :hmmmm

You would run the leaflets through a collating machine. (Not sure that a WSM could handle the differing sizes and shapes.)
I would imagine that this will be the next step that RM will take to "save costs and improve efficiency".

I understand collating thats a logical step that we have been anticipating.
im sceptical that three small items collated together and shrink wrapped could be classed as one allowing room for another 5. :arrrghhh
its obvious i dont trust RM. :chuckle

I dont think coded D2D will come in. Working the CSS machines, even coded mail can be rejected. Thankfully, for the postie, if this occurs, the letters can be manually sorted, but if D2D were to be rejected because of poor coding, then with no address to read, chaos would ensue !

I think 95% of us know regardless of what agreement is in place R/M will do as they please.

The only people that swallow this shite about a new area is the CWU hierachy im a rep as some of you are aware and R/M havent changed one bit.

We havnt had D2D placed into workload yet either and this is something im arguing the toss about. The time of reps isnt going to be taken up by office revision its going to be taken up writing numerous letters of disagreement.

Unfortunatley for us blue shirts R/M are very well aware that the CWU has dropped a major bollock with this agreement and they know that the work force isnt happy with there union. Isnt it a pity the CWU arnt singing from the same hym sheet of the people it represents.

If DIMS are ignoring the D2D agreement and this being the first one they should have got write which maybe would of shown us they are serious about a new relationship can you imagine over the months/years what else they are going to ignore.

Up plop creek without a paddle springs to mind. Enjoy the ride boys and girls its going to be a dumpy one.

They always move the goal posts.Got the royal mail dossier on van share in march saying they wanted volunteer new drivers. Got the new one now saying if you have not got a reasonable excuse and you still refuse to drive you will be taken down the conduct code!If they would of done their homework in the first place it was never going to work unless both people in a van share drive

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Have they needed time?

RM are allowed to absorb if time is there to do that.
