I guess you refused all pay rises that your fellow union member workers fought and paid for. Or are you just one of the freeloading parasite's who let others fight their corner and then pocket all the gains?hampshireman wrote:...

Re: Okay; we realise it's not the best deal..
The duplicity and pretence of our union doing our employers PR.dvbuk55 wrote:Many of the points you make are true, the problem for me and I suppose many others,is the pretence that it was somehow a "negotiated" settlement. A settlement that took 5 months and a three ring circus to persuade the members to accept. The fact that a union could accept a winners and losers scenario for its members is shameful. This deal is only the latest in a long list of abject failure in negotiating any reasonable conclusion including the pension - somehow people seem to have forgotten the promised ballot, the removal of the financial support for the labour party, the extra five years of work.POSTMAN wrote:Tbf,what would of happened if we did not strike,we did not negotiate,we did not have a union?
RM had a business plan, they wanted it in whether we liked it or not!
We wouldn't of stopped MC closures,CDV's,WSM's and the like.
As a business they have a right 'within reason' to do what they want with THEIR business, just like you would with YOUR business.
Their plan did not take us with them,it was 'it's my ball we play whatever game i like.'
Negotiations softened the blow, yes it's hard to believe but it did.
The world's a s**t hole,especially when money is concerned.
In conclusion I accept the failures through circumstance but the duplicity and pretence I cannot accept.

The basis is the refusal to accept that job and finish is no more. The refusal to accept that hours have to be worked. This blindness gives RM Management carte blanche to load up more and more work.
I use the word 'we' as it was better in this context as the word 'i' would not apply.
And don't assume that I am a freeloading parasite or call me such. As you don't know me.

Sounds like my D.O, but without the more and more work, although that will all change once the revision activity starts.

I wish the union had said no to the D2D swindle and at least insisted on the monies being distributed fairly. Not just a blanket payment.
I know the supplement isnt paid for D2D now, but its still part funded by it.
The union should also have insisted it go into basic pay and not a non-protected supplement.
At the end of the day you know whats going to happen dont you?
Royal Mail will return in 3 years pleading poverty and the next round of cuts will begin.

Dont you have different duties starting at different times - we do in my office. One duty mainly firms starts an hour before the other drivers - finishes at same time AFAIK but has a shorter Saturday as compensation.jack straw wrote:Do you get an hours docket then? We were told today that we have to lose 260 hours in eight weeks time. Am not sure exactly what the percentage is (we are not a big DO) but would guess at something like 15%Big Daz wrote:hampshireman wrote:

Half from indoor , half from outdoor.
Lord knows how this will happen.
And you know what. Many still came back early today.

last year while delivering in the pouring rain i was stopped by a council worker who used to work as a postman and he couldn't wait to tell me what a rubbish job it was and how he wouldn't go back for anything. fair enough you might say. what was his new job, he was emptying dog crap buckets beside a local playing field. i kid you not.

You ever worked in a factory??? I have, the crack with the lads was bang on, no backstabbing or working complete c**ts. Plus the money was alot better, also you had the choice if you wanted to work saturdays.

540 Hours is the target at my D.O, complete pie in the sky figure that!!
The housing growth on its on will need at least 120 hours allocated to it.
