Royal Mail puts £12m PR brief out to tender

A national rather than a strictly regional angle on this story, but with a PR budget of £12m How-Do thought it was worth delivering the news of the Royal Mail's hunt for a new agency roster.

The organisation is looking to forge a framework agreement with up to seven public relations outfits for the next four years.
As befits the scale of the task and budget for the postal service - which delivers more than 70m letters and packages a day and employs over 160,000 members of staff - the roster is split into four lots.

These are: business to consumer PR; financial services, travel and telecoms PR; business to business PR; and data and media PR.

The budgets for the lots are, respectively, £3.4m, £6m, £1.6m and £800k.

A deadline of 17 July has been set for the submission of tenders.
