What's this £180m for?

Post by POSTMAN »

Is it part of the subsidy you lot get...
Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander safeguarded £180m of funding for the Post Office,

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I take it "you lot" refers to those people who work in the PO Counters part of the business.

Because Old street cannot run this part of the business properly, the tax payer is obliged to stump up this £180m so that small PO's can stay open to serve those people who live in the rural villages, and urban villages.

Do you have a problem with that?

Sorry Postman, bad day yesterday. Yes this is the same subsidy, but increased a bit from £150m to £180m.

It does not of course mean that the money will actually be used to support the sub Post Office network. We shall probably be able to afford a few more Sales Managers.

Word is that they are cutting the 'sales teams' in half over the next few months. They joined the SEMs and the FSS managers together a couple of months ago and the plan is that one in every two will have to go. This was said to me by no less than; other CWU reps, 3 branch managers, 2 CAMS and the Regional Manager. (and a partridge in a pear tree!)

Fingers crossed folks. :pray

Swab... Swab.

Scalpel... Scalpel.

Cutting the tumor now...

This is why the BMs have to be fully versed in the FS compliance. As they will become the 'actual' line manager of the FSs.

While I'm on this, the BMs only have 2 chances to get the compliance tests right. There is no 3rd chance.

The email sent to me from a BM a couple of months ago, (that they got sent from HR), stated something along the line of "your long term future in the network would need to be reassessed".

That's just paraphrasing folks, and I only read it the once and accidentally deleted it whilst LMAO!

MUP me!!?? Nah.. MUP YOU, MOFO! :funneh :cuppa :left:

I really hope you're right about the sales teams Billy.
These salary stealing, morale sapping, ever so right parasites have dragged us down for far too long now.
I believe that the Bank of Ireland have given us some good products to sell but let's not forget that it's the Bank of Ireland who introduced us to this group of gobshites in the first place.
Let's 'cut the tumour' now and save ourselves a small fortune.
Who knows? The savings may even enable us to staff our Crown Offices properly!
Sorry!!! I wasn't thinking! Please forgive that moment of madness.
For a second there I thought I was working for a company that gives a s**t.
Carry on regardless.
