Re: Van Share!.
Pat the guidelines do not agree that proposal. If your office has then why did you not say anything.
The guidelines were agreed sometime ago before the menu of options.

It doesn't actually say how the duties are going to be made up though does it,or how long they are going to be?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Van Share!.
I did say something, I was ignored. The office was not asked as far as I am aware, I certainly was not asked. You seem to forget that lowly part timers do not go to WTLL sessions, have 1 to 1's or generally allowed to become involved in anything with the Royal Mail. A bit like the CWU in a way I guess, well at least with the CWU I get a vote even if I did vote no.dingo wrote:Pat the guidelines do not agree that proposal. The repick was supposed to iron this out, alas we/I/are/am still waiting A YEAR ON.
Are you trying to tell me its one of them sinister 'local agreement' things which the CWU state constantly as a cop out? Or is there something I can actually do?
Aside speaking to my Area Rep/Local Rep/DOM/Line Manager/Bob Gibson/Steve Fishwick, what exactly do you mean about not saying anything?

Riding shotgun for someone who can drive, deliver all the parcels, the tracked items, pick up, sign for and be responsible for the security of the vehicle and all for the same money - now aren't you glad you can't drive?mclovin wrote:ANd where does that leave 40hr staff who cant drive?

Re: Van Share!.
Maybe they should redo BlackAdder goes forth?
[POSTMAN is informed that a Royal Mail spy is stealing secret CWU battle plans]
General Slocombe: You look surprised, POSTMAN.
Captain POSTMAN: I certainly am, sir. I didn't realise we had any battle plans.
General Slocombe: Well, of course we have! How else do you think the CWU battles are directed?
Captain POSTMAN: Our battles are directed, sir?
General Slocombe: Well, of course they are, POSTMAN, directed according to the Grand Plan.
Captain POSTMAN: Would that be the plan to continue with total exhaustion until everyone's dead except Field Marshal Billy Hayes, Lady Hayes and their tortoise, Ward?
General Slocombe: Great Scott! Even you know it!

Re: Van Share!.
No,we have 2 part timers in a van and two full timers in a van and 1 of each in a van.So its all a mix.mclovin wrote:So dingo just to clarify does each van have to have a PTer and a FTer??

They way it works with 2 full timers in my office.A non driver does a double prep, ties and loads the van for his duty. His partner starts later on,they both do the del,non driver finishes at 2.30,the driver gets his break then, then he does a collection til his finish time.
So really you want to be a non driver........
