RM NOT STICKING TO DEAL?

Post by hubbahubba »

As far as the operators of the CSS machines are aware,we are sequencing over 50% of our mech mail to our DO's,yet management are not paying out on the first part of the £1000 which was agreed as per the 2010 deal.Excuses from"the DO's haven't finished their revisions"to"we have to wait for all MC's in the division to catch up".Can any senior union bods clarify what EXACTLY we have to do to get this money?

Lump sums

The £1000 lump sum (pro rata for part time employees) will be paid in two phases.
Phase 1 is a lump sum of £400 to be paid when the Mail Centre is successfully deploying walk sequencing letter mail to the transformation plan for 50% of the Delivery Offices within its catchment area.

The remaining £600 will be paid on the same basis when the Mail Centre is walk sequencing mail for 100% of its Delivery Units.

My question is how do you know when your mail centre is running at 50% or over ? does it need to be ratified by peeps outside of the mailcentre ? and why is this not happening !

Your branch or DIV rep would know.

We have the same problem but we are in the mailcentre, when the Agreement was agreed too we were running at over 50% walk sequencing which triggers the £400 and 30mins a week back, but like you say we are always met with excuses
so that was back in april, now we have hit the 100% and have been told we have hit the target last week so we wonder how long it will be before royal mail actually honour the agreement with this and pay us out the £1000 bonus
we could be waiting ages but we will keep pushing to get this through as quick as we can

No what he meant was that the Div Rep or Branch would be advised in advance so that they can tell their members. TBH with all the changes and plans only now being ramped up its unlikely that even RM have a plan cast in concrete yet and probably wont for a few months. Even when they do dates are going to slip anyway as, like with any plan, very few survive once they are in "real world" situation.

My advice would be to keep bugging them for updates and position statements in WTLL, they'll get the message its important and hopefully keep you in the picture.

Good Luck.

What's a WTLL session ??? :Very Happy

It was certainly fun in OUR one last week when I read out the Mail Centre Closures!!!

Manager was quick to deny the rumours..... :speak to the hand

You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Which rumours were denied? In most areas staff were briefed on the proposals. Only in London it appears that people havn't been told of the plans.
There are still quite a few areas not announced, Northern East Anglia, the East and West Midlands, Wales, the South West, Southern England, outer London areas and Scotland. As the programme is supposed to be completed by 2013, we shouldn't have to wait too much longer

Only thing we got told was that there were RUMOURS about Hemel/Watford Mail Centres..

Local CWU know nothing...

If only that were true! Most areas find out what's happening a long time before the briefings, via leaks, or their own detective work. For example: The proposed fate of the Crewe and Liverpool MCs were leaked Months, before it was announced. :hmmmm

Someone managed to find the planning permission application, and the fact that it'd been approved. Within a week or so, it'd been passed around to the majority of the people affected. :hmmmm
