Overseas labour is the in thing,employing people on the lowest pay,on short term contracts and with no benefits.
( A BIT LIKE LEIGHTON'S POLICY WITHIN THE ROYAL MAIL!)
The throwback from all this is that the goverment subsidies these overseas workers with their wonderful benefit system called apply only if you are foreign!
This must cost our government a fortune as well as us tax payers!
This is time when we British need now to make a stand and show both the employers and government of this country that we our still proud and will not be driven out by cheap foreign imports!
We our aware that change is inevitable,but let's be rewarded for it and not like something Leighton has just wiped off his shoe!

The goverment have opened up the flood gates and this isnt fiction it is fact... They aint stopped the illegals coming in and still fund and house with a presidence for them... I never raised the issue of race,I responded to a post that I thought had a racist edge to it and was saying that overseas workers were getting preferential treatment over the indigenous population(although how an island that is built on immigration can have a native population is beyond me.We're all immigrants).There's a huge difference between asylum seekers and "economic migrants" and if people took the time to find out that difference and speak to people new to the country instead of being frightened of them we'd be in a far better state than we are now.
I don't need no lectures on governments and how they operate i'm fully versed in the power of the state and how they willingly set worker against worker and race against race, and, anyone who expects a government of any political hue to look after "the people" is naive in the extreme,they're not there for for you and me.
For the record I don't believe in immigration controls of any kind as I don't believe in borders or nation states .Open the gates,let anyone in,the weirder the better.It's a class issue not a nationality issue.
No one is illegal. Of couse if your self-esteem is so low that you have to look about for scapegoats, I can see that people might fall for the bosses propaganda rather than blame the bosses for cutting wages etc. There isn't a single argument used about people arriving here these days which wasn't used against the Irish 150 years ago.
Personally, I'm sticking with the union. If anyone doesn't like the union, they can always leave it along with the strike breakers
I tend to agree its not the "illegals" fault they are being paid low wages with no representation. Its the bosses fault as they pay the low wages in an effort to drive down wages for everyone, thereby increasing their own profits and bonuses. Its also the Governments fault in not allowing them to work or in some cases draw benefits. To see yourself in someone else's situation before passing comment or believing in the propaganda, is a must.
However, I do also believe that we are way too slow in deporting undesirables such as criminals and proven supporters or instigators of terrorism.

You're not wrong there. Mind you, when we have the likes of Joe Owens, David Copeland, Desmond Fenwick, all home grown nut cases, deportation isn't an option.

One more thing just in case you're not quite getting it,I never raised the issue of immigrants I responded to it,why mention immigrants at all in the original post?
I don't see gangs of "illegals" outside my office trying to steal my job when I'm not looking,the issue of immigration has very little, if anything at all to do with this dispute so why do you think the original poster raised it?
