In the week that the new (non-pensionable) supplement to basic pay comes into effect my D2D would have been £12.50, instead I will be paid £20.60.Who the hell allowed me to have been losing out so much during the last few years ?
I love my pay rise.

Seriously though, things were going to change anyway, and there have to be some winners and some losers.
So what gives you the impression that you work harder or do any more work than me, and why should you have been on what announts to a higher hourly rate than me for the past few years ?

If your both doing a 40 hour week, working all paid hours and doing normal delivery work then there is no justification for one of you to have more wage with the exception of dawn shift allowance.
We are paid by the hour not by how mch work is possible within the hour.
The exact amount of mail delivered and sorted varies from duty to duty, the exact amount of dwellings delivered to varies from duty to duty.
I just dont buy into the whole Im working harder/doing more work and I should have more pay than you argument for delivery office OPG's performing roles that dont require skills.
Direct you anger comrades at Dave and Bob for not protecting your earnings, lets not start taking chunks out of those who have benefited from the supplement.
Yes it is good that pay is more equal but it should have been done with new money rather than a robbing Peter to pay Paul approach.

I had a chat today with the nice man at HRSC and im underpaid on my DS, but I had ESA which he says I shouldnt have got.To add more confusion the ESA and DS combined is the correct amount of money and it appears its an error with the way the money has shown up on my payslip.
Investigation as to whats going begins Monday

The point is our earnings or part of them were protected under "grandfather rights" but Dave and Bob chose to go back on this under the new agreement taking away earnings which were promised to thousands of staff! Pay protection is a joke when union leaders with no morals or honesty can take them away whenever it suits them, and yes i agree our anger should be vented on the union and not colleagues who voted for themselves!

You see BD, the CWU thought you were going to be paid under the agreement but apparently you aren't because RM have re-interpreted what was supposedly agreed - and guess who is going to win?

It is a urban myth that you ESA would be protected on a permanet basis.
Look at section 1.3 of the 2007 agreement
It very clear that ESA was reatained as ESA but it is also clear that decision had been taken as to wether it would be permanent or redployed as part of pay restructuring. It was also stated that it would only be retained if no satisfactory could be found and then went on to say and I quote the early shift payment is ceased in delivery on agreement to pay restructuring.
That pay restructuring was agreed as part of 2010 therefore ESA ceased in D.O's

Re: Pay Supplement
Thanks for info BD,i think i would dispute the word "satisfactory" in this case but that's just my personal opinion. I made the mistake of believing our area union rep on this issue when i asked him specifically about ESA and grandfather rights before the 2007 agreement was voted on!Big Daz wrote:bunkerland wrote:Big Daz wrote:

Re: Pay Supplement
Yes,
To the extent that delivery OPG's have been paid more/less than each other despite the same amount of hours work.
That D.O based OPG's should have the same amount as those on delivery I support.
But, it should be achived without loosers, by pumping enough payrise into year 1 so that nobody looses out/or paying a payment untill wages caught up.
Sometimes its not what you do, but the way that you do it.
