MANGERS WHO DON'T MANAGE

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

It is just like Royal Mail mate. They only way the can make saving is by cutting jobs, seems although they are paid way more than us they cant think of other ways of saving. All they do is make up statements that all mean the same thing.

Here is s a list of words used in management speak:

Streamlining
Down Sizing
Targeted Savings
Intelligent Allocation of resources
Budget Reduction
Resource Management
Duty Amalgamation
Summer Lapsing
Customer Response Initiatve

what do they all mean: More work less workers

The trouble is, is that the two boneheads at the top are only on 3 to 5 year contracts, and when they sign them contracts the only bits that they are bothered about are how much bonus for making x ammount of cuts and how much bonus for x ammount of profit, the long term future doesnt bother them, if it had then they would have fought really hard against the goverment over opening of the mail market and over competition, the only people that are bothered about the long term future of this business are the employees, you can bet that the only reason them two are being stubborn and not negotiating is because theres a big bonus in it for them if cuts are made in the business, ive said all along its a goverment conspiracy...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

They are sales people full stop -in sales efficency means slash and burn , also there will be no vision , imagination etc as it's just short-terminism , they are just used to being accountable to shareholders once a year , RM's a bit more complicated & involved than that .
Don't jump down my throat over this but Senior Mgrs say they are not taking this strike seriously as the union won't accept modernisation and hark to the past letting competition take everything away . Modenisation in the corporate world is re-structuring , as to what this restructuring entails in RM I don't know ! also what plans have L&C got for modernisation ? -anything concrete.Aparently the union have a wonderful pay offer on the table!!!? They're just hoping a trickle back to work gets bigger until everybody gets sick of it . Don't get me wrong I've done 4 strikes with the NUR/RMT :lfo It's New Labour reform - take a look at what Nurse Ratchet done to the NHS , all those Doctor candidates , outsourcing , tendering for contracts , PPP . The BMA /RCN aren't going to give Brown any problems there are they ?
