Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
I am part time had 4 d2d to prep up this morning which took 20mins, while the guy next to me (full time) only had 1, and laughed by saying "i've got an easy duty plus i don't have to work as hard as you and getting paid more as well".

4 X D2D today ( including one A4 size and a 10 page booklet) ...
and I predict a steady rise in customers complaing that they haven't recieved certain letters... picture the scenario, they get home from a long day at work, see a pile of leaflets on the doormat and chuck them straight in the bin without even realising there is an important 1st class letter in amongst it.

You should go above your rep the aggrement is 1/6 a day over six and no absorbtion for the next 2 weeks stand your ground and vote your rep outPatrick Clifton wrote:I had 4, other guys had 2. Turns out the union rep decided to make a 'local' agreement with the DOM that d2d's will be mon-fri. I never got asked my opinion. Asked a few of the other guys, they had never been asked! They can go f**k themselves! Every piece of literature I have received regarding the new agreement & d2d's has said 1/6th per day/6 days to deliver them.
I know damn well that if Saturdays are kept d2d-free, a few weeks/months down the line when the 1in4 saturdays kick in we will get stung with the "no d2d's on a saturday, more lapsing!" DOM said Friday or Saturday, wasnt concerned, will 'clarify' with the union rep! Yeah, and will f***ing I. Rep, if he did do this, should not be mkaing these decisions without talking to and getting the reaction of the workforce.
I took my 1/6th today. Was late leaving the office. Had lapsing to do as well. It wasnt too busy a day but I just took my time. Told the lino I didnt think I would be finished in time. I had decided that I will do enough O/T to make up my wages to what I am used to getting and after that, they can do 1. Will be claiming my O/T tomorrow
Got asked to work my day off, oh how I laughed and then told them I was 'otherwise engaged.' I know for a fact they are up s**t creek this week trying to get cover for duties.

Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
We had to divide our frames into 6 equal (where poss) columns and complete d2d that way, reducing weight on delivery - it caused chaos which lead me to cut off
CUT OFF!!!

Sorry but members have missed 2 important parts of the update:mclovin wrote:Here.celerycelery wrote: Where does it say no absorbtion for the next 2 weeks?

<insert blurb about 2 week non absorption >The following words were sent to Royal Mail with the hope of issuing them as a joint statement.
TBH not quite sure why they included the 2 week no absorption in the update as it appears never to have been agreed and has caused confusion and tension rather than clarity and actually updating membersRoyal Mail have shied away from issuing a joint statement and issued a statement to their managers which whilst being slightly helpful does not sufficiently deal with the tight deadline and their managers approach to this changeover which in many instances appears to be from a start point of absorption.

Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
We were told they would all be thrown in frame for part timers but as expected all part timers arrived to find them all still in boxes and half of walk to prep. Needless to say we were all very late leaving, even full timers were late out. And this on a quiet day. Can't see how am going to manage rest of week. Agree with others that I have put so many leaflets through the doors that the actual post seemed to get lost amongst them. Four really heavy d2d's too

Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
shambles 4 lots of d2d most rounds didnt get them all and were told they have to go over the ground again with the missing ones when they arrive...a lad challenged manager on d2d into work load (time to prep them) he was fobbed off with "it's quiet traffic is down"(complete bullshit)....some didnt want to go over there time and guess what the old b+h stick came out again to hit them with....rounds were lapsed and everyone got extra work (EVEN WHEN THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE NO ABSORBTION FOR NEXT 2 WEEKS)
great more work /less time to do it in/ manager gets his big stick out/less money....it's all win win win
