Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
All D2D items were out ready for delivery, but if you didn't know that D2D was now part of the daily workload as from today.....you still wouldn't! Neither the DOM or Linos said anything about the new changes coming in, i even asked a few folk that were prepping the PT duties and they said that none of the managers had said what to do re. the D2D items.

So your breaking the agreement already?? Its 16.6% a day, not supposed to put them all in on the monday.
Not breaking the agreement at all its a minimum of 1/6th a day (Planning Guidelines) and we have the freedom to do more if we so wish.
Whilst the planned workload will be spread across the 6 days, delivery employees will have the ability to manage the delivery of the items themselves on the proviso that all items are delivered within the week and the delivery specification is not affected.
Although throwing them all in on a monday may not be in breach or the agreement it completely defeats the purpose of D2D into workload from our point of view.
It is supposed to be about filling your day with work to decrease the ability to lapse and therefore decrease the ability of managers stripping hours from your D.O. which is all that lapsing is.
Screw the nut and do it by the book or all you are doing is absorbing D2D into workload.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

We were under the impression that there was a halt on absorbtion for two weeks to help the new D2D roll out, but our DOM wasn't having any of it, even when we pointed out to her the letter on the union board by Bob Gibson. Glad to say most of the sensible posties brought back all the absorbtion work
Unfortunately there were still plenty taking out 70% or so of their D2D's today. People will never learn.

Work part time , never voted or agreed to this.
Got in had 4 D2D to post this week , works out i will lose more then £20 a week
Thats more than £1000 a year to which ive to do more work for my pay cut.
Told the manager that am not doing it, having a meeting to tomorrow
Wonder and hope other part time workers have done the same if not am for the chop but not without a fight.
All part time workers have been robbed and have had no say in this.
You think the part workers would have voted for this?
looking for a new job as we speak....

Fishtank I wrote a long winded reply to your post then deleted it before submitting.
Suffice to say your post has many good points in theory but........
Shame on me for using agreement to my advantage this week cause as far as I am aware there is no plans for lapsing in my DO this week so no harm done in prepping all d2d today and delivering them to where I am going over week.

We were told ,via a letter, to put D2D items in our fitting for any address points with no mail and to take the rest out and deliver (one lot per day). When asked about 2 address points per slot the manager paused and said that when bagging up take out all the mail for that slot and write the number for any address with no mail on the D2D item and place it in the slot - a lot of our walks have about 150 double slots.

Re: The 'How was your D2D today?' thread
I had 4, other guys had 2. Turns out the union rep decided to make a 'local' agreement with the DOM that d2d's will be mon-fri. I never got asked my opinion. Asked a few of the other guys, they had never been asked! They can go f**k themselves! Every piece of literature I have received regarding the new agreement & d2d's has said 1/6th per day/6 days to deliver them.
I know damn well that if Saturdays are kept d2d-free, a few weeks/months down the line when the 1in4 saturdays kick in we will get stung with the "no d2d's on a saturday, more lapsing!" DOM said Friday or Saturday, wasnt concerned, will 'clarify' with the union rep! Yeah, and will f***ing I. Rep, if he did do this, should not be mkaing these decisions without talking to and getting the reaction of the workforce.
I took my 1/6th today. Was late leaving the office. Had lapsing to do as well. It wasnt too busy a day but I just took my time. Told the lino I didnt think I would be finished in time. I had decided that I will do enough O/T to make up my wages to what I am used to getting and after that, they can do 1. Will be claiming my O/T tomorrow
Got asked to work my day off, oh how I laughed and then told them I was 'otherwise engaged.' I know for a fact they are up s**t creek this week trying to get cover for duties.

It's alright having a go at the Dom and blaming them( don't get me wrong, i'm not sticking up for them) but all this farce of an agreement should have been fully thought out, and plans in place before implementation.
I blame the union for allowing the RM to cherry pick the parts of the agreement that best suit them, without any opposition.

What a waste of time it is. We had loads coming in early as usual, and chucking them all in. We had the ones who instead of ips chuck them all in. Even had 1 chuck them all in saturday morning and take where they were going saturday!!!. As suspected its a total f**k up, lack of communication as normal and people not giving a toss.
