The 'How was your D2D today?' thread

Well colleagues, how did you get on? :nervous
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

1 d2d this week all prepped in frame (apart from floaters 16%) nice easy start to d2d into workload money works out roughly similar to being paid for d2d.What was all the doom and gloom about :Very Happy

He can do them when he wants, what I want to know is how he prepped mail & D2Ds then got delivered and done before 8.30 am

Not breaking the agreement at all its a minimum of 1/6th a day (Planning Guidelines) and we have the freedom to do more if we so wish.

Whilst the planned workload will be spread across the 6 days, delivery employees will have the ability to manage the delivery of the items themselves on the proviso that all items are delivered within the week and the delivery specification is not affected.

I got in this morning to find 1/3rd of mine thrown off. Strange thing is my round is never thrown off for me.
Did anyone else get the contradictory information sheet from management. Stupid points like d2d to be prepped last, 1/6th per day, then, all d2d's to be prepped into frame before you leave on Monday. I just ignored it, took all the ones which had been prepped. Only 2 lots this week, but they still had the payment rate on the box label, just to add insult to injury.

I had the maximum 4 as at present. No extra allocation of time to prep them into walk, as it's a shorter working day today, tomorrow, and Saturday, i had to cull today leaving a quarter of my walk in, i assume this is going to be typical from now on, may even have to cull more by end of week on heavier days.
Harrasment, Bullying, Victimisation, is all going to start rearing its ugly head once again, as i now have to have a "chat" with Dom in morning.

Make sure you take your rep in with you.

3 this week - some have 4 though not many to be fair - however 2 are heavy ones which I think under the old way of doing it they would not have been accepted on the same week.

came in this mornin' to 2 D2D's, control sheet sez 3
spoke to DOM sez he'll look into it
oh by the way Gaff my control sheet sez "no opt outs" I have 3 official opt outs :d'oh!
write them down i'll look into it
sorts out 1/6th i don't put them into frame i just work from the back of my bundle i find it much easier :chuckle
anyway after setting up my 2 sets i go over to get my newsbag, there's a york in the corner with boxes of D2D's on it :cry
shouts the Gaff over what's that? I,ll look into it
next thing i know i've got another D2D on my frame :evil/mad
so i've got to re sort this new set along with the other 2 sets i've already set up :evil/mad :evil/mad
here's the scenario
wot if it's your Monday off the floater does 1/6th you come in Tuesday there's another D2D sitting you've now got 5/6th's plus another 1/6th for a part of your walk that's already been done :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad
also in the olden day's you would get extra payment for late D2D's so wot now? iknow wot now get on with it absorb it :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad
also this mornin' we didn't get any extra time to sort up D2D's because the office capacity didn't allow for it there wasn't enough mail. That old one :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad
this is gonna be a shambles :arrrghhh

Some of that shambles is down to a local DOM being incompetent, DTD should have been with you not forgotten about in a corner of the D.O.

The agreeemnt is very clear about a more professional set up in terms of getting DTD to frame, the DOM should be invited for a "chat" with the DSM!!! :left:
