If you are not a WSM revisioned office,why is your span not 3 and a half hours?

Because it is a rural.
I still don't understand the start time issue.

OK, start at 7am, spend whatever time is needed to put in the first wave mail (by all accounts just the manual stuff) then hang around until 9am waiting for the WSM to come in and then prep that up and pull out leaving the office no earlier than 10am..........................I suppose it should mean that the duty will be cut to accomodate but we all know that they won't do it, they will instead just try to more our start time back until 9am.

I don't think most of you understand what 5/6 hour duties are like, I can't do 30 minutes of prep then have a break then come back (no facilities in the office for a break) for 9am to basically prep the rest of the duty, then go out and deliver it (without any break).

I think some on here are at it.
If your whole office starts at 7 and you only get 60% of your mail and most of it's mech then there will be a hell of a lot of standing about looking stupid going on.
You can't expect people to take their full meal relief and then work for 6 hrs(the most demanding 6hrs) in one block.
I think DGP is right,staggered starts will be RMs answer and the rurals will most likely be last.

Yep thats what we've been told,1st lorry about 8 with 60% of mail, 2nd lorry at 10 with the other 40%, the joys of working in a rural
