Exactly right!

We cant turn back the clock but the Government ,RM management and the CWU!
have stitched up deliveries.
I for one will not forget the betrayal.

The CWU may have taken a long term view on protecting your jobs in the future rather then attempt to protect the status quo which was changing for the worse all the time either in later starts , longer unagreed deliveries , more part timers and less jobs as a result of falling revenue.

Now in terms of deliveries being out voted by processing members that is rubbish.

The only Branch in the country where processing members outnumber delivery members is the Mount Pleasant Branch.

Remember on the following Branch`s voted no , East London Postal , Solent Amal , South East Wales , North East Costal , Clyde valley and Gwent had a majority of members within their Branch who voted no.

The facts are despite this site the members by a big majority voted yes.

Mail centres were closing long before this agreement and delivery jobs were changing long before this agreement.

I'm in processing - did not vote because I got so little information from the CWU on what the deal was, just a little A5 sheet with the very barest main points. Then it appears to me the £400 we got for saying yes was money we would have got anyway (share in success). I'm not necessarily against consolidating mailcentres and moving into a big shiny new building, but definately no compulsory redundancies. I smell a stitchup.

By making it uneconomic for part time Processing Posties to get to their new sites? :hmmmm
Remember: Processing work shifts, which don't always make it possible to use Public Transport. So they have to run a car/motorbike, and do a large mileage. Oh, they can transfer, but only if there's a vacancy. :hmmmm

I didn't even know there was one, where we outnumbered Deliveries.

Remember on the following Branch`s voted no , East London Postal , Solent Amal , South East Wales , North East Costal , Clyde valley and Gwent had a majority of members within their Branch who voted no.

That's true. And trying to blame non-Delivery Posties for our collective failure to block this agreement, is childish. And quite frankly, I'm getting very sick of it.

Mail centres were closing long before this agreement and delivery jobs were changing long before this agreement.
That's true: But where's the safeguards to make sure that the staff can get to these new "super" MCs? :hmmmm
THAT should have been included in the agreement. It's just one of many serious flaws in the agreement. Which sadly, the majority failed to notice. No doubt, because they were too concerned with how much of a lump sum they'd get. To read it properly, and consider the consequences of it getting in. :arrrghhh :no no :arrrghhh

Just look back at how many people were mythering about when they'd get their money, as soon as the agreement got in. :hmmmm :d'oh! :arrrghhh

ESA and DTD money is being divide between all workers in/attached to D.O's ONLY not all workers in RML.

It's a urban myth that has sprung from poor explanations of which i hold my hands up to as being guilty of for a while.

A lot of workers/members assumed that everyone meant every OPG in RML, rather than just every OPG in Delivery Offices and unfortunatley there was assumption that when the question was asked about everyone getting it that the OPG asking the questions meant everyone in a D.O's

The agreement itself is clear on the £20.60 eing for D.O's and supplements in all the various component sections of RML, shame CWU did not condense the agreement into C5 size printed as a booklet. A enterprising CWU member in a neighbouring D.O has done just that and the branch has aquired some for the reps. Much better than having 80 loose sheets of A4 paper.

I wasn't blaming anyone. I was replying to Johnny Rad who seemed to think it was only Processing who voted Yes.
The reality is that the majorities in Processing, Distribution, and Deliveries seem to have voted for it.
And Deliveries have two-thirds of the CWU membership, so if Delivery staff had opposed the Agreement, they
could have voted it out, but either the majority voted for it, or did not vote.
Anyway, as the politicians say, we are where we are, and we have to live with the result and get on with it.

It was a yes vote for many because the union recommended we accept the deal !
few union members had either read the report or had a chance to digest its contents.
We cant blame each other when we were steered wrong by the people we pay to watch out for us. :hmmmm
