Union membership figures for may -

Well the great exdous from the union has not yet materialized as a result of the new national agreement.

Total members joining the union in the postal side were nationaly 432 and those leaving were 650 meaning a net loss of 218 members.

Regionally

Eastern had 28 joiners and 61 leavers.

Midlands had 90 joiners and 86 leavers

North East 60 joiners and 82 leavers

Northern Ireland had 1 joiner and 18 leavers

North West 30 joiners and 64 leavers

Scotland had 49 joiners and 49 leavers

South East had 43 joiners and 53 leavers

South West had 54 joiners and 105 leavers

Wales had 15 joiners and 42 leavers

London had 62 joiners and 105 leavers


Considering the amount of VRs there has been in the North West , Covertry , Milton keynes and Mount Pleasant , these figures do not suggust that there has been a massive exdous from the union as a result of the new national agreement.

None of the changes have yet taken place and really it is an indictment of the CWU that there IS a net loss. It speaks volumes as to what the rank and file feel of the representation they receive.

The joiners are all the new part timers railroaded and hassled into joining by panicking reps. They'll see the light after the next dispute. Vote for a pay cut, makes good sense eh? Cheers Billy and Davey for all your hard work in securing my pay cut.

Thats the breakdown of the CWU as a whole, How many members of RM left the union?

There is a branch by Branch breakdown as well and i have the London region one.

Those numbers are on Royal Mail group members , they dont include BT and other companies.

The joiners are not only part timers , Royal Mail are still recuirting full timers in some areas in line with the stoke agreement.

The point is that loads of posters on here stated there would be a flood of members leaving the union as a result of this agreement being endorsed, well at the moment this has not happened.

In fact more people left the union as a result of the way forward then as a result of this agreement.

Well more people left than joined but even that appears to be a victory to some blinkered idlers. It's a bit like pyramid selling really, get more people to join, the top tier get more money and those providing the wealth get less - and I thought that was illegal
