Is it any wonder that people of foreign decent get such a welcome in these Islands when people who live in all its corners try to label everyone and put them into little boxes. In some places it still happens to people from the Emerald Isle.
Everyone is different you will always have bad eggs in every place its not a good idea to tar everyone with the same brush just because they happen to fit a self perceived stereotype.

In some places it still happens to people from the Emerald Isle. yes thats right most people on the mainland think that people from northern ireland are irish and are bombers ect ect. funny that.
Perhaps its the style of your posting and if the message I got from your post was incorrect I apologise.
However, I think the problem was partly caused, at least in my part, by the fact that the OP was asking for advice and you did not appear to offer any. In the context of what was being asked it sounded like you thought the OP was at least partly to blame for what was happening, hence me thinking you thought that all WPCs were like that.
In written communication it is sometimes hard to put across what you are thinking because as some communication scientists believe, at least 50% of human interaction in face to face situation is actually based on body language, hence the reason I ask people to try and look at their posts as others do. Just as an example if you had started your posts with
"Thats wrong mate, but have you thought of this from his view, he may think of you as a kiss ass -------"
it certainly comes across better that what appears at first glance an accusatory statement "maybe he see's you a kiss ass"
Again my apologies if I got the wrong end of the stick but perhaps I have explained why I came to that conclusion.
As for the perception of the Irish, I have the scars to prove not everyone in England believes that. I can happily state that I have friends from both Republican and Loyalist (and Protestant/Catholic) communities even though, or perhaps because, I served in Ulster for 3 years. Unhappily the scars I received were not whilst over there, but in Pubs and Clubs in England whilst drinking with those self same mates.
As an aside and not on topic, but from the perspective of having lived in many parts of the world, at least half my life both as an adult and a child, England is the most Xenophobic country I have ever been in. Not the UK just England.
