Re: Joint D2D Statement
Listen to you all, You are still talking like its for us to sort out. RM have made the rules so stick by them and if it takes longer and you have to claim or break off all the better.
We are our own worst enemies, we seem to do all we can to get finished as early as possible, well them days have gone and its time we all realised it.
So when you are told to do all your D2D or anything else for that matter that will help your Dom give you more work, Get the Area Rep involved don't just moan and take it.
Remember if you have time then your Dom is totally entitled to utilise all your hours so if D2D takes me longer and i have to break off, Then i will. Its as simple as that.

Looks good on paper but will the union back members who do not want to work over ?, how are you going to deal with the bully boy tactics from the doms, weekly resource meetings are you taking the p our rep is given walks to throw in so the doms says there is no time for a weekly meeting, last time we had wtl was nov 2009. so all in all your living in cloud cuckoo land, i think 95% on here will agree nothing and i mean nothing will change.

Don't know if this is pointed at me, But i'm not a Rep just a P/T postman like most of us on here. All i can say is what i do, and that is work my hours without killing myself in the process.
My manager can ask me to do what ever he likes and if i have time i will do it, If not it comes back. As i said before SIMPLE
As for the Union backing members my Area Rep & Branch have always come to my aid whenever i have called on them, and have never let me down !.

I think the real worry is not now Geezer but when RM finally join the dots of the performance standards, the indoor work tool and pegasus.
Then we will really have to watch our backs.
We have never faced these AGREED measuring tools before and i can see many members facing performance related conduct cases.

Re: Joint D2D Statement
It should be worked out with the duty holder, you shouldn't use exactly 1/6 but approx. 1/6 ie. if you 1 street takes you over the 1/6 then the next loop will be slightly less, if your duty is 660 then the sections can be from 100 to 120, whatever makes it easier.genesis wrote:Another problem with one sixth a day is this:
part of your job could have terraced streets ,another part drives, another gates and paths, what I find i can deliver more on one part of the duty in the same time it takes to deliver far less on another part, so equal daily delivery amounts will not work on my route.

I don't understand why they need to be thrown off on to the sorting frame! Why not just deliver them from the back of the bundle?

Re: Joint D2D Statement
Your not the only office thats been asked to take more than your fair share. At a team brief on tuesday, we were told that everyone would be happy to take the usual 20% a day mon-fri. Who is everyone? Does this not have to be agreed with in the office by a ballot?speedy wrote:Our DOM has said he wants us to do 25% a day (Mon-Thurs), and not have any to do on friday and saturday.
Am I right to think he cant do this??
I would just be happy to stick with the 1/6th, but the reason for not delivering d2d on a sat is just because the full time staff have a shorter working day and they could possibly struggle...thats the managers problem not ours, they are just trying to keep everything sweet for themselves. Even if a duty can't mangage the d2d on a fri because its to busy, the dom will probably say that you can take it out on sat as its just another normal working day.
The funny thing when at the team brief talking about d2d the dom kept on saying there not called d2d...so why the hell have you got D2D on your notice board, what a plonker!

Fishtank, i agree with you 100%. This thread was about D2D and this was just my opinion on that. Personally i think we could be in deep DoDo with the performance measuring tools, fishtank wrote:I think the real worry is not now Geezer but when RM finally join the dots of the performance standards, the indoor work tool and pegasus.

We have never faced these AGREED measuring tools before and i can see many members facing performance related conduct cases.
But untill they start to use them we are all in the dark as to what we can expect to come from them. I personally thick CWU should not allow any changes untill your Office has had a full revsion and all the new tools are in place.
The problems i can see coming are that people won't do things by the book, and managers will encourage this. Then those that refuse to cut corners will stand out and could face conduct issues.
As i said before we are our own worst enimies at times.

Re: Joint D2D Statement
it will be fun on monday with all the extra work and they expect us to walk collapse (yeh) we got told as from the 14th june we go live (his words) wsm and our start times change 6.30 - 14.30 mon -fri and 6.00 - ? on a sat and by law we have to take a 20min meal break ,so the way i look at it the longer your inside the less you do on delivery that will be even better , ft 8hrs a day - 40 mins meal break = 7hrs - 20mins for the full day , no docket for me .Geezer wrote:Listen to you all, You are still talking like its for us to sort out. Is he putting more hours into the office Mon-Thurs to accomodate d2d into workload or stopping lapsing Mon-Thurs i dare guess not.And what did the other people in your office say about his plan,Yes sir ten 20kg bags full sirspeedy wrote:worktotime wrote:no tell him to read the so called agreement it is 1/6th per day which means mon to sat ,managers have a rule of there own (not now) and work to your time and take your meal break , more problems for managers , any problems see your union rep.speedy wrote:Our DOM has said he wants us to do 25% a day (Mon-Thurs), and not have any to do on friday and saturday.

Rep is off sick and bloody useless anyway.
Hes putting it across to people like hes doing them a favour, but all it would really do is free up more time for lapsing on fri and sat.
Not this cat though, 1/6th all the way

Wish i was at your office!! How on earth can you hold 4 different leaflets with out preping them, we also get a newspaper at my office which would be impossible to hold behind a bundleiamchopski wrote:I don't understand why they need to be thrown off on to the sorting frame! I never throw the households into the frame just prep them together and throw the bundles into the pouch! How did you manage with households on the old frames when you couldn't throw them off?cantbelieveit's... wrote:Wish i was at your office!!
