There are very few places of work everly where you can "take your break when you feel you need to".
Personally in my opinion a break just before delivery is a good time to prepare your body for the onslaught. :chuckle
Are you sure your not just p*ssed at being held to your time. :hmmmm

If you are PT then 10 mins break would suffice therefore giving you 20 min during (or after :arrrghhh ) delivery.

Don't get me started on people not taking their breaks :mad

When did you take your break before?
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

No

From the official government website.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/ ... G_10029451" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Rest breaks - a break during your working day

As an adult worker (over 18), you will normally have the right to a 20 minute rest break if you are expected to work more than six hours at a stretch.

A lunch or coffee break can count as your rest break. Additional breaks might be given by your contract of employment. There is no statutory right to 'smoking breaks'.

The requirements are:

the break must be in one block (My Opinion is this includes the 20 minute statutory break so the extra 20/10 RM give us can be taken where you want)

it cannot be taken off one end of the working day - it must be somewhere in the middle

you are allowed to spend it away from the place on your employer's premises where you work

your employer can say when the break must be taken, as long as it meets these conditions

Further 20 mins for FT = 40 mins break
Further 10 mins for PT = 30 mins break

If you have a 40 minute break, take 20 before delivery, you are left with 20. If you are entitled to a 30 min break and take 20 before delivery, that leaves you 10 minutes. You'd be taking your break 20/10.
