Does anyone know when GMC will have Walk Sequencing Machines.
No one from Royal Mail seems to know, and we hear nothing from the the Union.
We get little or no communication.

I don't think royal mail know themselves. They can't believe they have got this agreement through.

Our DO is supplied by GMC. We were originally told we wouldn't get WSM until June 2012 but this has been "revised" and now there is no timetable for the introduction of WSM.
So when will we get our £800 from the agreement.
As the previous poster said - it MIGHT be this century but no-one is holding their breath.

Is everything on hold pending the arrival of Ms.Greene and Vince Cable's privatisation plans?

I think we get them in August (not GMC) I don't know if they are installing them country-wide around then or one area at a time. clashcityrocker GMC could get the software on their LSMs updated and then use their LSMs for walk sequencing.

FFS FT, if our managers see that then they'll want us all to sort like that :nervous

No-one knows?

Does a letter keep going around and around the machine until the walk sequence is exhausted?

They seem to be putting alot of effort into saving 15 minutes off of our prep time.

For walk sequencing the mail gets run through the machine (3 times I think), after each of the first two it gets put onto dedicated letter trolleys, which have been divided up into slots, with each slot on the trolleys tallying up with a stack on the machine.

Does normal walksorted mail only go through once?

If yes, can anyone else see the madness here? It's like robbing Peter to pay Paul!
