Three little words spring to mind when discussing the killing and maiming of people found guilty of even heinous crimes - miscarriage of justice.

I understand your point of view CCR but we are discussing this case in particular and not the flaws in the judicial system.
And in this case the defendant for want of a better word has admitted all charges so unless he was coerced which although possible is highly unlikely a miscarriage of justice does not really become an issue.
So... i would ask you the same question.
When he is released,and remember he is a relatively young man would YOU be prepared to accept him as your new neighbour?

People may confess to crimes they didn't comit for reasons other than coercion. Being a needy twat desperate for attention springs to mind.
And the simple answer to your question is yes. Yes I would accept living next door to him when he is released.
It isn't a simple subject to address and I know it is highly emotive but I don't want to join the mob attacking a paediatrician in the name of saving their kids.
Maybe it's because it's Sunday morning. I always feel more mellow on Sunday morning.

Although most people agree that there is no need for lynch mobs----alway remember the victims of these crimes.
and, let us not forget, this is one group of people who, have admitted themselves. WILL go on to re - offend. If they choose to live out with societies boundaries, they do not deserve to live within it! I do not mean hang 'em high, but do what they did when I was younger, put them into long term institutions, where they can harm no one.

Michael Williams was jailed back in 2010 for eight and a half years.

Williams, now 37, had been due to stand trial at Truro Crown Court on Monday (June 17) accused of sexually abusing the two girls.

A notorious paedophile is back behind bars after admitting the sexual abuse of two teenage girls.

Former postman Michael Williams made national headlines back in 2010 when he was sent down for eight and a half years for using social networking sites to groom up to 1,000 children, some of whom he went on to sexually abuse.


Williams, then 28, used different profiles to target children he met on his post round, while doing school runs as taxi driver, and as the secretary of Falmouth Town Football Club.

He tricked his victims into performing sex acts on a webcam or to meet him in parks, beaches and at his home in Penryn , where he abused them. He also pleaded guilty to voyeurism and possessing indecent images.

However, after a period of negotiations between the prosecution and defence. Williams entered the dock and pleaded guilty to a total of seven indecent assaults.

All of the assaults took place between 1999 and 2002, before the offences for which he was sentenced in 2010. The victims were both aged under 16 at the time.


Sitting as Judge Recorder Andrew Oldland QC said that prior to sentencing he wanted reports from the prison and probation services as to how Williams behaved in prison and once released on licence, as well as his attitude towards his offending.

Defence barrister Ramsay Quaife made an application for bail in order for Williams to get his affairs in order, but Recorder Oldfield rejected the request due to the severity of the offending.

Williams was taken back to HMP Exeter and will be sentenced either on Tuesday or later in the week depending on how long the reports take.
