Doubt it was IB, for h&s now they work in teams of 3 but obviously might of missed the other 2? They do carry RM id's.calpsy wrote:Bloke in our office got caught leaving his van door unlocked by what he thinks is the IB . He cant remember who she was but she pulled out a RM ID badge .
2 questions .......... 1 . is the IB goin round with RM ID badges and 2 . What will happen to him ? He had a parcel on the floor passenger side .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hmm strange, when i got pulled i asked why there was so many of them. Told me they travel in groups now since some guy stabbed one of them or something during a spot check... i reckon its just for intimidation though.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:ashy wrote:Doubt it was IB, for h&s now they work in teams of 3 but obviously might of missed the other 2? Ive been done 6 times, the first time 18 months ago was 2 blokes - the last 5 has always been 1 bloke alone, and their were pretty much on about mail security and h&s. Maybe theyve run out of thieves , or maybe their trying to find new ways of sacking us FT staff

Re: Pulled by IB ? ?
Thats scandalous it really is, i know mail has to be secure but come on... There was actually 3 of them when it came to my case, on the day i got pulled and i knew it was going to happen too, did my lapsing which is about 2 miles from my round, on the way i noticed a car keeping its distance from me thought nothing of it but saw the same car again behind me a few hours later, all James Bond stuff,, later got pulled at the DO.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:They were probably onto you for a while which is why there was 2 of them. They usually used to do it in 2s, just to have a wiitness if you do anything wrong ?? Whats to say they catch you doing summat dodgy and you say you didnt do it ?? Maybe they are just trying to spook me ??
I know for a fact that a local manager I know said the same IB bloke went into his office a few days earlier and asked if there was anyone he wanted checking out ? He said no, theyre all good lads. An hour later someone was suspended for nipping to the toilet on his way out to delivery - went in a public toilet and left his bike outside with the bag on the front , came out and IB were waiting for him. He got suspended. That was a few weeks ago, havent heard anything else. He was FT btw ,with many years service in

They were investigating a postman and went round to do a search and the Postie shot one of them and tried to kill another 2

Re: Pulled by IB ? ?
IB do tend to work in groups of atleast 3...
but iv heard its not uncommon for them to mostly be in pairs... only requireing the third guy if they are doing a search of you or your property incase you have a wepon of some sort.
also IB do carry ID badges... they are different to the normal ID card everyone else is issued... their ID cards are "top to bottom" format and have a sort of hologram thing across the lower half of the card.

Re: Pulled by IB ? ?
I've come across them working alone, a few times. But that's been security checks on the building. They split up like that to cover more ground.

Re: Pulled by IB ? ?
One day last year I was dead wealking to my next drop when some guy came up to me and showed me some official looking badge/I D card and said he was with "Royal Mail security". He then said he needed to check inside my bag.
Since I've never been shown an official I.B. card/badge or whatever they have I had no clue if he was genuine so I told him to F**K OFF and went on my way. Never got any come-back over it but I do wonder if he was really IB.

Re: Pulled by IB ? ?
or 4. the Old Dear fancied you and that was the best chat up line she could think up.Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:Something stuck in my mind a while ago, maybe last summer ? Possibly longer ?? An old dear came out and asked me why she hadnt recieved a card from her son ?? I said id no idea , could be anything , usual stuff really, goes through so many pairs of hands/machines before it gets to the door that anything could have happened. Still might come etc - she never said how late it was......... She then said "my son really should know better, he`s one of them special postmen you know, who catches other postmen stealing and stuff and he always tells me to never send him money via the post, yet he sent me cash in the post" "He couldnt get here as he lives in Scotland" , and I rarely, if ever, have seen her again. Thinking back now, its 1 of 3 things, 1, its genuine and her sons a dickheed ,2, She was thinking it was due and was trying to scare me into not stealing it ?? or 3, it may have been some kind of test by the IB on me, or my floater, or just a random test maybe ??
Could be that?? Sure makes you think ?? Seeing as theyve picked me up on numerous occasions - and no one else ever see`s them.
