Davies secures top job at Romec

Dr Stewart Davies has been appointed managing director of Stockport-based facilities management company Romec.

Davies, who joins from Serco Integrated Services, takes over from previous managing director Mike Sparrow, who has been promoted to a new position within the Balfour Beatty group, which owns 49 per cent of Romec.

Davies, a member of the government’s Technology Strategy Board, said of his new appointment: “I look forward to working with the team in building leading-edge capabilities and successfully increasing our client base through service innovation.”

Romec was founded in 1989 by Royal Mail to look after its estate of 2,500 buildings. It posted a turnover of £199m in 2009.
