More than 300 people packed out a charity cricket match in memory of a popular Corsham postman on Sunday.
The son and brother of Chris King, who collapsed and died in December after being diagnosed with throat cancer, competed in two teams at Corsham Cricket Club to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Heads Up cancer charities, with £1,400 raised through donations, a raffle and a barbecue.
Mr King’s wife Alison, 43, of Katherine Park, said: “It was an absolutely huge success. Chris would have been very chuffed. He would have loved the whole occasion.
“If he was looking down on me now he would probably be saying ‘I told you I had more friends than you’.”
Mr King’s son Joe, 17, said: “It was a good day for everyone and brilliant to see it so packed.”
Brother Malcolm, 44, led his team to victory at the event which saw each team in commemorative T-shirts.
