Was told today that the principle of payment has been agreed, the manner of payment is still under discussion, either unit payments or an agreed level of overtime.

And just how would that affect cutting off?..Would you be able to refuse to deliver them?
Or would that then make delivery compulsory like election material?
More questions than answers.

It seems more questions then answers and I bet my dim dom will see it a different way.

Tax credits? The tories are in now, you earn way too much. Consider them gone!!
"Now there might be a number of solutions for handling door to door into workload. Remember you will only do 1 /6th per day so on a 500 address delivery that works out at an extra 83 items per day or if you have a 1000 delivery points it works out as 166 items per day."
I don't think we want solutions but answers. The d2d and everything else in the agreement should of been better explained on what the job entails. Terms and conditions have been changed in the work place over the past decade, and all i want to know aswell as others is what happens when we all walk through the door.

My guess is that RM will want the "agreed level of overtime" option, meaning that we can't cut off, more worryingly I can see the union agreeing to it.
the stuff contained within this thread was conveyed to my office just this morning and it's brought more questions than answers. The bosses ain't too happy, but also don't seem to understand the concerns raised regarding it all.
Two weeks to implement something that can't been put into place until we're given the tools for the job - aye right - I am now looking for a new line of employment
Told today that payment is to start 7th June.told before we go on IPS we will put d2d in own frame and Pt's.Manager wants to give staff option of doing them over 5 or 6 days.seemingly we will be doing sections of our frame everyday and he wants to put stickers on the frame to divide up sections.Problem is we have single and double slots on our frames,so some days you will obviously be doing more than others.
Anyone have any ideas the best way to do this ???

Royal Mail want to go live on 7th June and pay the supplement and then lift the cap to a maximum of 4 .
If it is agreed on Monday then there is over two weeks for local talks to take place on how to put door to door into workload in each office.
So.....where are they?....or at least some comms telling us mugs the latest position.
Without guidelines managers will try to implement this their way and once it is in it will be a b*stard to reverse.
The clock is ticking and if D2D is not properly accounted for in prep, call rate, traffic volumes and "genuine solutions for weight and volume issues" are not avialable i will simply refuse to deliver it.
Promises were made in Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond and if those promises are to be broken at this early stage then we might as well tear the whole feckin thing up now.
In the interim to ensure that D2D workload is covered effectively in line with this agreement, and in advance of units realigning duties through full revision activity to take account of D2D, resourcing of hours associated with the workload linked to D2D will be dealt with through locally agreed interim arrangements and reviewed through the weekly resourcing meetings in all delivery units. To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.
I have read the agreement Daz but how exactly do you reach local agreement without guidelines on prep rates and call rates.
Do you intend to just guess?
We have been through this before, not all managers are as friendly as yours and once again we are in danger of throwing offices with weak or even worse NO representation to the wolves. I CANNOT BELIEVE WE ARE ABOUT TO REPEAT THOSE SAME STUPID MISTAKES AGAIN.
