Vote for us... and pay out £2.64: Stamps fall off Tories' letter

A HALIFAX couple had to pay to receive election literature from the Conservative party.
Newly-married Steve and Dawn Webster shelled out extra postage costs and the Royal Mail handling fee to receive two letters they assumed would be congratulation cards from friends or family.

But when the post was handed over, they discovered there were two flyers asking for their votes from Tory candidate Philip Allott – neither with the full postage paid.

Furious Mr Webster, a bus driver from Illingworth, said: "The Conservatives are supposed to be running the country but they can't even run a small office."

He had to pay a total of £2.64 before he could have the letters handed over and find out what they were.

He said he rang Halifax Conservatives' office to complain and they offered to pay him back – but only in stamps.

"I said that's no use to me. I don't use stamps, I text people," said Mr Webster.

Maurice Cook, the Conservative Party's regional field agent, told the Courier the stamps must have fallen off.

"We wouldn't send letters out to the electorate without stamps on," he said.

"It's going to happen from time to time."

and does he expect anyone to believe that ?
As if our delivery office floors are always littered with fallen off stamps.
He might as well tell us the Conservatives are no longer the nasty party.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
