I work in the Thames Valley Mail Centre in Processing on a weekend (Saturday only) duty. I transferred from the Reading APC in March 2009.
Since starting at the TVMC, I have only ever been told verbally what my duty was (i.e, what sections I should be working).
The other day I rang the Writing Room to check what my duty details actually were, and they told me that besides the fact that I sign on my duty on the outward letter area, my duty does not have any more specific duty details.
Can anyone tell me, shouldn't I have some official duty details? I know anyone can be moved around as directed, but surely my duty should have some "default" duty details? I'm pretty sure that when I was working in Ready my duty had specific duty details (or at least working areas).

Not sure but as you've transfered to another Office you will be regarded as Usefully Employed which means until you are actually able to sign for a Duty in a resign you will have no specific job or duty so it's a case of them putting you anywhere and everywhere in your attended hours,

Re: Question Re: Duty Details
Try asking your line manager for a printed copy of your 318

Re: Question Re: Duty Details
RE DUTY DETAILS: Hope Chris 888 has better luck with a request for a copy of his 318 than we here at GMC have had. Production Manager ignored our request;our line manager just diverts conversation about 318s to some thing else and another manager said 318s "their a thing of the past..... now get on with your work"
.after the YES vote it would seem ROYAL MAIL have decided it's party time .......let's do what we want ! and the sad thing is we have given them the leeway to do it

Re: Question Re: Duty Details
Don't bother with your manager, go straight to the Book Room. If they're unwilling to help get a rep to go in and print one off.

Re: Question Re: Duty Details
It's my understanding that it is a 'managerial duty' to keep & provide access to a 318 for every duty within a given office.
Anyone clarify this?
