Let's face it. Cameron is going to take one look at the salary of a DOM and ask ....

I disagree. Things can, and WILL get worse if we're sold off. For example: We'd all be on the same wages as our so laughably called, competitors. Now, I'm far more interested in protecting T&Cs than getting wage rises (as I've said many times on here), but to have our wages slashed, would be a major problem. It's bad enough, for those who've lost out this time. But we'd be looking at a much larger cut, in private hands.

Then there's what's left of the service. That'd be hit hard too. There's a reason that we're the only ones to deliver "the final mile". It's not profitable enough. And I seriously doubt, it ever could be. So we'd end up with legal challenges to the USO, and eventually the remote areas, would get either a more expensive, reduced, or more likley both, service.

Think about it.

,completly wrong..our wages will never be lowered to the competion..it cant be..this flys against the knowledge that all privatised companies still pay their workers considerably more,in fact the competition has to up their wages to stop their workers jumping shipsyou cant come in to work one day and have your wages cut by 25% or 25p...it cant be done.the only way it could happen ,is that when someone leaves they are replaced by someone payed less,or b, our union could collectivly give it away for us......oh we are f****d
