reading the highlighted "red bits" above its the postmans responsibility to get the d2d "live mail"
delivered and it suggests we should have a contingency plan for late deliveries.
importantly though not stated above"live" mail cant be left or wilfull delay gets invoked.

Ahhh.......but it is only wilful delay if we decide to leave it but it is operational problems if managers tell us to leave live mail.

Kin el...why all the worrying ??? We dont get paid enough to worry, let the management worry, thats what they are paid for.IF YOU CANT COMPLETE YOUR DUTY ,FOR NO MATTER WHAT REASON ,THEN, GO TELL IT TO THE DOM ffs..In our office if we are kept on ips for longer, then the time has to come from somewhere, usually at the end of the delivery, simple .You can only do so much in the working day.I am sick of people whinging about not having enough time to do this or do that, if there is no time then get your walk tested. In my office on Saturday mornings , we are kept on ips for ages after the agreed finishing time , people moan like feck, when we do finish ips, whooooosh all the moaners and feckin whingers are still out like a shot,and they wonder why we are in the s**t . Me i calmly stroll around the office carrying only one pod full of mail at a time ( health and safety) instead of feckin armfulls of the stuff. Time to go out ,if i cant complete tell lino its that simple. Grow some BALLS and stop fannying about.

Its not just this vote that we are in the s**t, its the way we have all been killing the job off ourselves ffs.To be fair all RM want is for us to work our 8 hours and you cant blame them for that. What is feckin it all up for all of us , is that the more they put on us, the more faster and earlier starting and working for free some knob heads feel they have to do.Ive banged on about this for ages, so have many others , but still people wont listen. Whats the point of rushing around like a headless chicken just to save a few minutes on the end of your delivery.Just get used to working to your time and at the moment you should find you will be doing a lot less.I for one , who is in mid 50 s do not want to rush around ,day in ,day out.We have all brought it on our selves so now RM want there pound of flesh .And its never to late to do the job properly.....

None of us do and we wont know until we get a look at the agreed performance standards,the indoor work tool and the new version of pegasus.
Let's wait until we see those before we start crowing about working your hours,cutting off and all the other bull spouted by those who,like us haven't a clue what may be around the corner.

You see that's the problem maisymoo i don't need your advice on how to do the job properly,i always have.
But the times they are a changing mate and RM don't just want you to work your hours anymore.
They want you to work your hours to a particular agreed standard....what that standard will be and whether you or i will make the grade is yet to be seen.

Doing the job properly now, at this point in time, using there own proceedures against them, like putting your d2d in your frame, minimum 20%, that all takes time.Most dims dont know that, but its there own prceedure, like dont walk and sort while on delivery, go to door,sort mail push through letter box, then flip check for missorts then proceed to next house. This all takes time and will have an effect on your delivery span.As for the new agreement , well that will be an entirely different ball game and i agree we dont really know what to expect, but lets not roll over and let them walk all over us.

Some common sense for once.

A lot of people seem to think that 'doing the job properly' means working slowly but steadily and strolling around until their time - well sorry but doing that, cutting off and sending mail back, then blaming 'runners' for ruining the job is completely naive. Thinking that's all you have to do and the job will never change is outright delusional.

Would RM be introducing performance standards if they didn't know a lot of people are either too slow, or just outright taking the p*ss?

Surely this isn't right, if you have 500 deliveries and 4 d2d and you deliver 1/6th every day that is 4(d2d) x 500 (drops) = 2000/6 (working days) = approx. 333 per day.

I think the case RM and Doms will be making is that we currently deliver upto 3 d2d in present workload,so when we move to 4 d2d time only has to be found for 1 d2d extra. 2 for 5, 3 for 6, and so on.

6items of d2d doubles the weight!sorry if im sounding condescending but here goes!
putting them in for arguments with 6 boxes arranged in front of you.

thats 500 leaflets a day(83 x6) every day
by the way prep is gonna be interesting with six items to a fillet before you try to squeeze some letters in there.
you go through the whole 6box collating exercice every day .
