Norman Smith Director of Safety Royal Mail Letters

An announcement has been today raised by Mark Higson MD Royal Mail Letters that Norman Smith Director of Safety is to leave Royal Mail Letters in July.

Norman is returning to Aberdeen to work in the Gas Industry. The business he was in before joining Royal Mail. The MD has thanked Norman Smith for the work he has done over the last 18 months in Royal Mail Letters and in changing the way the business approaches safety and in ensuring the business has the capability for excellent safety standards.

The MD has stated that the process for seeking a successor for replacing Norman Smith has commenced immediately.

I have conveyed my personal thanks to Norman Smith and wished him well for the future.

Norman has asked me to thank all CWU Safety Representatives for the important job they do, for the Royal Mail workers they represent and asked me to wish them well in their future endeavours.

Norman Smith, Safety Director, is to leave Royal Mail Letters in July.

Health & Safety is not, never will be, of paramount concern to Royal Mail, or the CWU for that matter, as we are, always have been, seen more as being pack mules, not human beings.
