While CWU sold us out and nothing is happening????
Sombody on this site should write petition to CWU and politely asked them to step down.
We all can also refuse to vote in upcoming CWU internal election campaign in protest to their lack of support regarding issues were most important for us last year.
What u guys think about that?
The problem with asking them to step down, is that there's no-one willing to replace them. What we NEED, is for someone to stand against them, next time they're up for re-election. They got back in by default last time, which is why we didn't get to show our displeasure with them, via an Election.
As for refusing to vote on in the upcoming Elections. That'll just re-inforce their positions, as their friends and supporters (yes, they do have some supporters left) WILL vote, and they'd get in with a convincing majority. What we SHOULD be doing, is voting, wherever possible, for suitable replacements. At least that's what I believe. What do you think?
I think that could be wining strategy in longrun, but we have to get rid of current thinking
what union rep is saying is saint, only option
everyone need to use own brain and take decision to vote for replacements to get rid of those clowns on top
15. The CWU fights for the rights of all workers and is opposed to all forms of discrimination in and out of work
Unless you're part-time. In which case the degree of fight the CWU will put up will be on a pro-rata basis.
Equally, BA workers at Heathrow have the best terms and condtions better than any of the other airports where BA fly from
So Unite have something in common with the CWU, then. Members' terms and conditions are defended robustly or weakly, depending on the location they work in

yes i am part time and do not see union doing anything to protect part timers
u may be right, our subs are not enough for them to make an effort and protect us
sad truth
One of the main unions which were involved in getting the PTWR 2000 into statute was the CWU! Pro Rata meaning in proportion.
Meaning of what hours you work or is it that Part Time members work harder? You get a share proportionate to the hours you are contracted to, otherwise those full time members who do overtime could rightly ask that they get 110%!
We all pay our subs and those who are part time get the same treatment period!
Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives.
John Stuart Mill
But what about the ones who cover full time Duties, but are only contracted for part time?
That's the problem you see. If someone only works half as many hours as we do. Then obviously, they should only get half the money. But there are many who do the same hours we do, but are getting less money.
