Misled? No! I don't believe it! You mean to say that RM and the CWU would mislead its workforce/membership, well I never, that must be a firststokes11eg wrote:itllnottouchyou wrote:dos anyone know when the new 39 hour working week is coming in? was told this morning we are not getting WSM in our office as we are too far away from M/C and it would take about 3 years for geo route etc to get to us so our 1in 4 and shorter working week will have to wait till then surley this cant be rightThis one hour reduction is not what it seems,.it will be introduced in two 30 minute blocks. The first thirty minutes . you are supposed to be able to 'save' The next thirty minutes will not be given until certain implementations have been put in place, probably some years down the line. anyone who thought they were to get a full one hour off per week, has been misled.

We currently work 40 hours/week.stokes11eg wrote: anyone who thought they were to get a full one hour off per week, has been misled.
We will move to a 39hr/week.
How is that not a full one hour off per week?
Who is misleading who?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: 39 hour week
Does anyone know how this hour is to be implemented? Which is only for full timers of course and how many of those will there be this time next year I wonder? Forget the 75/25 split, it may well be that BUT 75/25 of whatever workforce is leftPOSTMAN wrote:I'll be moving to a 39hr week this time next year.clashcityrocker wrote:We currently work 40 hours/week.stokes11eg wrote: anyone who thought they were to get a full one hour off per week, has been misled.

(1)---I will work one hour less per week, with that one hour being taken of from one of my working days, so I would say work one hour less every Tuesday.
OR
(2)I think I will get back 30 minutes, which I can sort of save till I need them, and then I will maybe get the other 30 minutes
in a years time, depending on certain criteria being met.
If everyone answers yes to question 2, I will eat humble pie. If they answer yes to no. one they have been misled!

Re: 39 hour week
There are genuine concerns that the easiest way to implement a 39 hr week would be by starting one hour later on a tuesday.
Fine,an hour longer in bed but not really something to make a song and

Re: 39 hour week
Well nobody has actually said how the 1 hour is to be applied!
There are a number of options but nothing has been said as to whether it will be a national or local implementation. "Hopefully it will soon be resolved", it won't apply anyway until the sequenced revision takes place, now I wonder when that will be and if all the machines scheduled actually turn up or if RM decide to squirrel some of the money away for a rainy day.

We were due this wonderful machine 3 years ago. Staff was reduced on the assumption of getting it, Guess what? no machine, and the staffing level was not brought back up to pre-machine levels-

Surely if your current finish time is 1430 Mon-Fri and 1230 on a Saturday, your contracted hours will now finish at 1418 and 1218 respectively, before you cut-off or start claiming O/T?

Could have told you rm are a lot of lying B!!!!!!S.They will not implement this deal, simply because the Government ( of whichever hue )will require rm to save money as part of the reduction of the deficit.Remember rm is owned by them.As previous poster said prepare to be shat on.
