unless of course you are looking to be rewarded for working a day which is unimportant to you

Re: Wool pulled over 1 in 4 sats off !!
wat are r mail thinking of staff wish for more saturdays off i get a sat -mon every 6 weeks im happy with that
do i want to work til 1500 on a sat i doubt it very much
if people go sick and there is no cover we will asked to do more
it use to be job and finish on a sat in our office they change the rules every week
all the m3 in date they get sorted so you dont have an easy sat thats the one day i think all posties wud like to finish early
we havnt got a union rep as such so 1 day we sort for 15 mins then 20 then 30 then managers moan if we cut off
the sticking thing is managers do the deliveries what are left in our office it looks good because no overtime is recorded but the higher ups dont realise the real position in our office managers delivering until 1700 but not booking thus it looks like saving money its a con

Without meaning to belittle your self proclaimed powers of telepathy,i think in the interests of accuracy it's probably better to just stick to a more factual element in other people's posts!banner18 wrote:bunkerland wrote:banner18 wrote:Just the usual groaning from those who refuse to work to their hours.
I've seen you post this a few times, who are you talking about?
I've never seen anyone in my office refuse to work their hours, just as well cause it would probably result in them being sacked, and I've not read any posts on here from people saying they shouldn't have to work their hours either! Perhaps you could use the quote facility to prove me wrong though,or are you just full of it?
Its a case of reading between the lines I suppose.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Someone will be doing it, and in the future, that person or persons will be from your office.

Jimmy you wide of the mark, stop listening to the constant moaning of some posters and start getting your rep to start understanding what type of attendance patterns your office want.
There are a number of systems which dont mean you have to work an 10 hour day.
Here are some :
2 in 6 Saturdays off in a rotating 5 day off system with a short tuesday but is based on you working an 8 hour 30 mins day. This system provides 8 4 day weeks per year. It also allows for 17 saturdays off plus annual leave compared to the current system which only allows 8 or 9 Saturdays off.
Wallington plus which allows for 2 saturdays off in every 6. The attendance is 8.30 with a shorter Tuesday. This system allows for the Saturday off before your wally week kicks in ( week off ). This structure provides for 8 clear days off in every 5 weeks and provides 17 Saturdays off plus your annual leave weeks are over and above the 17 Saturdays off.
2 rotating full time duties based on a 4 and half day week with fixed part time cover on Saturdays and Monday. The attendance will be 8.30 per day ( shorter on tuesdays ) This system provides the full timers an 26 saturdays per year off or 30 for someone who have 4 weeks annual leave and 32 for someone with 6 weeks annual leave. This system also allows for part timers the opportunity to work 3 days less per week for the same hourage and pay. An ideal duty pattern for CDV vans.
2 in 6 ( 1 in 3 Saturdays off ) in 5 day rotating day off system. This is agian a 8 hour 30 mins day. You bank 12 hours 30 mins over the 6 week period which can be cashed up or used for leave purposes. This also provides 17 Saturdays off over the year rising to 21 for someone with 4 weeks annual leave and 23 with someone with 6 weeks annual leave. This system also provides for 1 four day week in every 6 weeks.
4 day weeks on 3 week rotation
This system gives one saturday off in 3 meaning 17 saturdays per year off rising to 21 for someone who has 4 weeks annual leave and 23 for someone with 6 weeks annual leave.
9 day fortnight system which is based on 6 days one week and 3 days the following week. This is an 8 hour 45 mins duty ( shorter on Tuesday ) This system provides for 1 in 4 four Saturdays off. Plus every four week an indvidual gets Thursday , Friday , Saturday , Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday off in a row.
The other 9 day fortnight option is 5 days one week 4 days the following week. This is an 8 hour 54 day and provides 1 Saturday off in 4 and with a long weekend of Friday , Saturday and Monday. 13 Saturdays off per year rising to 17 with 4 weeks annual leave and 19 weeks with 6 weeks annual leave.
Please dont listen to the rubbish from your Delviery Office manager they will come in. I cant believe the ammount of posters who were arguing for a no vote which would have meant a fight now all suddenly accept what their manager says !! The agreement will be deployed fairly and in all units. Off to a meeting to discuss just that.

Then if your office votes to stay the same then you're ok.mclovin wrote:How about the fact I "WANT", a 5 day week, 8 hour day?????

But looking at some of the options,a bit extra now and again and you could be onto a winner.

What comes first, the workplan or the attendance pattern dingo?
Does your office agree attendance patterns and then the office workplan has to be adapted around it or vice versa?
