Re: Wool pulled over 1 in 4 sats off !!
I think the actual change in this agreement may well be for some of us offices is the change in work pattern. We may well go for the 8:30 per day and get the Friday,Saturday,Monday,as much as possible.I well remember going into the 5 day week(!).God! Do you remember the 6 day week!,(i'm digressing, excuse me!).
We may have to face up to more part timers and huge work for local reps to also adhere to The Way Forward in terms of full time part time ratio per office. However the ball game may change pending the financial climates. If we go into profit for whatever reason,OR we hit the full time part time ratio nationally. It is up to those branch officialls and Divisional reps to also earn their corn in support for all of us local reps.
I am in no way slating those that do....but let's face it...some don't........
Lets get rid of most in my opinion and let the CWU headquarters finance a helpline. Would be cheaper...........

Ready to get shot down again!
Well, when the ball comes to my DO,and my Branch and my Division we will play the game that will be set in stone, the menu of options will be looked at,looked at again, and we will work our bollox off to get what is in there.
We done the same with P&M,yes they took the ball away, but we got the ball back by fighting back.
Now i'm not saying that this agreement and this trust bollox is not going to be without problems,it will be,but down my way we will hold them to it and they won't pull the wool over our eyes.
A lot of you got shafted by P&M,surely you're not going to stand back and get done over by this deal!
Even before the thing was voted in we had a lot of posts about my manager says we can't have this or that, well that's bollox.
And speaking of balls, seems some have to grow a pair.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

if saturdays are not important to you then why would you need an incentive to work them all ?banner18 wrote:I would work every saturday because they are not important to me I admit. Stop talking nonsense your Union has screwed you, you'll probably be advocating strike action in 3 years after you realise you've been shafted again.
Your a bloody trumpet, I'll be damned if I'm ever going to be part of your Union after the deal I've been given. Vicious circles spring to mind.
Pathetic, this website is just a CWU propaganda tool by the looks of it.
Glad I'm out of it now

Yes, we've been shafted by the Union Nationally. But personally, I've found my local and area Reps to be very good. But it's obvious from many posts on here, that the same can't be said everywhere.Typhoon wrote:Thats a classic case of you deflecting, "growing balls etc"POSTMAN wrote:Well, when the ball comes to my DO,and my Branch and my Division we will play the game that will be set in stone, the menu of options will be looked at,looked at again, and we will work our bollox off to get what is in there.

But, as for claiming that RMC is a CWU propoganda tool. You need to do some more reading.

http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 10&t=26727" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And that's just the Polls.
As it says on the Homepage: "We have no affiliation with either Royal Mail or the Communications Workers Union (CWU), except that most of our members work for Royal Mail and/or are members of the CWU.".
Personally, I feel the best way to solve our problems, is to change the CWU from within. But that doesn't mean that I'm right. It's my opinion. And I'm just as entitled to it, as you are to yours. That's the point of Forums like RMC. The only times that we intervene in what anyone posts on here, are if they break the rules. And there's nothing in the rules, against complaining about the Union. Or leaving it, for that matter.

Somehow I don't think Dingo, The Truth and Lovejoy will actually agree with you. Perhaps if you checked the forums out you'd realise that I, as the most prolific poster, certainly do not hold back from criticising the CWU and RM when I think its deserved.
Mind you I have never understood the everything is Black or White argument, nothing acts in isolation or on its own, therefore most things tend to be shades of grey rather than solid white or solid black.

Re: Wool pulled over 1 in 4 sats off !!
I agree. It is a bit like being a politician I suppose, although not like those 3 disgusting w****s that would do anything to stay in power on Thursday night/Friday morning. The last few agreements were blatantly "third party" influenced,(obviously ACAS). Although not too disimilar to politics,(the maastricht treaty etc).therefore most things tend to be shades of grey rather than solid white or solid black.
What our agreements obviously require is "Activists".Now I know the definition of this in places is "demonstration" or "striking".However due to our draconian trade union laws we are left with "activists" using the power of :
Knowledge
Negotiation
Diplomacy
There lies the power of Local reps. Are we up to it? Remember it is done on a purely voluntary basis. Are HQ promoting and protecting AND supporting us? Plenty of members on here are clearly without representation in their offices. That is why this deal,(or the last 3),is bad for them.It did not say :
No bullying,(it did)
No more cars(it did)
Work your time(it did)
dignity and respect(it did)
However we all know that the latest lot of half wit managers(and I use this term manager loosely),will use bits of any agreement because they know THAT THEY CAN!
I think this site does one thing quite clearly,(and for those that post critisism please note) : IF IT IS BROKEN YOU SHOULD FIX IT

i have not read all the thread but does the agreement not OFFER 1 in 4 satudays off. it does not expect it. You may demnad it but they may not force it upon you.
If you do not want saturdays off then could you ask, not to be put in the pot of those who do, and only those who do should be expected to take up the slack of their colleagues who also want saturdays off.
e.g.
2 lists up,
one with those who want saturdays off, and the rota. All worked out by resourcing to take into account holidays.
and a second list of those who do not want saturdays off
you could remove the pee takers who want to chop and change by having them sign and date that they want to move from one list to another. Would it also not be possible to make it know that this can only be done quarlerly or six monthly.

unless of course you are looking to be rewarded for working a day which is unimportant to you
